In any circumstance, if one team is still trying to win, the other team can still have its best players out there as well. Okay... i've heard this argument more times than i can count. If Hansbrough had no reason to be in the game, neither did Henderson. In any circumstance, if one team is still trying to win, the other team can still have its best players out there as well. I don't think that Henderson intentionally went headhunting, but he was definitely out of control. However, since you're going so far as to say that you're glad it happened to him, i would have to say that i hope Henderson gets jackedup soon

henderson's team was losing dude. Nosejob and Roy, on the other hand, were sitting on a very comfortable double digit lead with under a minute left in the game. Unless it's a total blowout, the losing team's starters (or best 5, depending on the situation) would likely still be on the floor, though chances of a comeback are so slim that the team up by that much can sacrifice having their top players out for the last few seconds. Roy does this sort of thing all the time!

I remembered watching this live on TV. The guy who elbowed him was ejected. Problem was, it wasn't really sure if it was a Flagrant-2 Foul (to use NBA terms). That was a hard foul nonethelesss by Duke (or "Dook" for Duke haters). #15 just unintentionally (at least to me) whacked Hansbrough's nose with his elbow. And really, I don't know how you'd call this.

I think Billy Packer is stupid for trying to say this was not a flagrant foul. Clearly it was, cheap shot or not, intentional or not, it's still a flagrant. Calling a flagrant is not whether it's intentional or not. By NCAA and NFHS basketball rules, a flagrant personal foul OR intentional foul (meaning not always intentional) involves excessive or severe contact during a live ball, which, I would think it was severe AND extreme, that he drew a full pint of blood.
