  • I caught a spotted turtle in nc what should I do with it

  • @GMACK1995 Contact your local animal control department, environmental center, or zoo, to find out what to do.

  • Aww, Clemmys guttata!! I love this species, they're so pretty. I'd love to have one of these one day. That'll probably never happen, but I can dream ... :-)

  • Good luck - I hope you can have one some day.

They really are cute. And they usually seem to notice the visitors and to be as curious about the visitors as the visitors are about them.

  • I hope I will, but it's very unlikely ... reptiles are illegal as pets in this country and I don't know of anyone in Norway who keeps any turtles of this genus. I have two Chinemys and one Trachemys, I hope to acquire a common musk turtle one of these days, and even that is difficult in this country. But maybe one day ... :-)

  • It's also not very good habitat for spotted turtles. The philidelphia zoo really ought to give that turtle some soft substrate. I don't think slate and rock is what this turtle really wants to deal with.

  • Thanks for your comment, too. This video does not show it, but soft substrate is provided in another area of the exhibit.

  • that's not a Bog Turtle, it's a Spotted Turtle

  • I am sorry I took so long to reply to your comment, but I did not see it until today. (Some comments I receive don't seem to be redirected to my email account - I am not sure why that is.)

Anyway, thank you for pointing out my mistake in identifying this adorable turtle. I appreciate it very much whenever anyone takes the time to do that.

I guess the spots should have been a clue ...
