new projectors will not be 5k but they will be projecting 48-60 FPS per second. Its sharper than higher res with no shutter movement. If you like red than thats great. i don't mind it, I just happen to preffer Alexa for its look and don't find much need for reframing. have you seen the new Alexa M coming out, and the Alexa Studio and they will be running 140 fps soon with view adjust for anamorphic and you can run it off an ipad

Who is projecting at 5K? Well no one, because the next standard for projection will be 4K. 5K gives you true 4K resolution off a bayered sensor, so that's why you would want to shoot at 5K.

Why shoot at 5K??:

- Reframing opportunity

- Superb Downrezzing

- Same spatial resolution as 35mm film

Dude, I'm working on the "Amazing Spider-Man" shoot on the Sony lot, and the EPIC is probably the easiest and most advanced camera out there. The color science, resolution, latitude, size, you can even shoot slow-mo at 4k. Dude, please stick to what you know and stop giving people info, when you dont know what you're talking about
