@imlatinoguy I did that about 5 years ago with varying success. The problem is that part of the egg solidifies obstructing the hole. You have to create about 3 holes, but you might as well just poach it instead.

Simple, get a base to keep the egg upright, poke a small hole on the top the shell. Done. Now the pressure can be released and you can microwave your egg.

Well... there is the slight chance that you set the time just right and if you are unaware you could remove the egg from the microwave just before it explodes and there is the small chance the pressure decides to release just at the moment you have your hands on it and you could possibly end up with molten egg yoke exploding onto your skin, and hopefully you aren't leaning over and looking in when you grab it... just a possibility... maybe.
