'The skirts hang so heavy around your head that you never knew you were young'.. all those years and I've finally figured out what that line means. Doh!!
Why had he no CHANCE to live on-he was not alone, but he felt so....Nobody could help- no one could know how he had to fight with TO MANY GHOSTS in his head...
Saw alot of bands in the 80,s and Big Country was one of them. hey were brilliant and worth every penny( ticket cost £4.00) Couldnt believe it when i heard Stewart had died, if he was still alive today this band would have been as successful today as they were then!
I remember when Wet Wet Wet gave a free concert and Stuart played without the rest of the band - he was awesome - I will remember that forever. He was fantastic just him and a guitar. I think it was the late 80's.
remember seeing them in 1988 i think glasgow was having a concert celebrating being city of culture i was 15 all ma mates were n2 ska music but when i heard this i was hooked god bless
Saw them at Wembley arena, Portsmouth Town Hall, Crawley The Hawth and The Astoria Tottenham Court Road. If you've had a bad day put Big Country on and chill. That's what I'm doing after a particularly crap day at work today!!!!!
One of my fav songs of all time and one i want played at my funeral.Such a hauntingingly beautiful song.Spoke to adamson and jobson at one of their first gigs at tiffanys in edinburgh.Adamson was such a nice guy.
Bob Fucking Geldof, the only reason U2 became more successful than Big Country. The Irish feck "thought" Big Country had split up before Live Aid. Boomtown Twat !
Don't be such an idiot. Big Country were good sure but would never have reached the commercial success of U2. They deserve their fame and certainly didn't need Geldof to promote them..
classic song ! he was so gifted it is a great loss god bless him!! at least he lives on in his music to those who thought of him as a genious like i did! R.I.P
God this brings back very fond memories. I'm 40 in a few weeks and this was one of the soundtracks to my youth back in the eighties. Thanks for memories guys and RIP Stu Adamson, what a waste!

They're so young in this video.
This song has such a beautiful and sad tone. Stuart wrote such passionate songs. They were all top-notch musicians.
"The Crossing" would be my choice of album were I stranded on an deserted island. I can never get tired of listening to that one. Bless.
