  • @spiritofradio

The Crossing was the first album I ever bought, and over two decades later it is still fresh and exciting to me. Classic.

    Stuart R.I.P.

  • They're so young in this video.

This song has such a beautiful and sad tone. Stuart wrote such passionate songs. They were all top-notch musicians.

"The Crossing" would be my choice of album were I stranded on an deserted island. I can never get tired of listening to that one. Bless.

  • ...you're so right....

  • Stuart as one of the best writers EVER IMO, he wrote real true to life stuff! I am a HUGE FAN OF HIS!

  • how come drums and bass were better in the 80s that any other decade?

  • I love to hear and see young Stu singing this beautiful sad song again and again...

    RIP STUART

  • I remember when Wet Wet Wet gave a free concert and Stuart played without the rest of the band - he was awesome - I will remember that forever. He was fantastic just him and a guitar. I think it was the late 80's.

  • 16th November 2001 I believe....correct me if I'm wrong...

  • shocked cos i didn't know he died! when was this?

  • Absolute classic, brings a tear to my eye thinking about the 80's, great times.

  • Saw them at Wembley arena, Portsmouth Town Hall, Crawley The Hawth and The Astoria Tottenham Court Road. If you've had a bad day put Big Country on and chill. That's what I'm doing after a particularly crap day at work today!!!!!

  • I saw them at Wembley too, supporting the Jam. They were fantastic.

  • what a charismatic guy Stuart Adamson was, Big Country were awesome and totally underrated. You are greatly missed Stuart. REST IN PEACE.

  • i am so glad that i got to see this band so many times play live just great days

  • RIP stuart, you died on my birthday.love chance and will never forget you, thanks for your contribution to music

  • I agree

  • Bloody love Big Country!

  • they had no chance at all...

  • Bob Fucking Geldof, the only reason U2 became more successful than Big Country. The Irish feck "thought" Big Country had split up before Live Aid. Boomtown Twat !

  • Don't be such an idiot. Big Country were good sure but would never have reached the commercial success of U2. They deserve their fame and certainly didn't need Geldof to promote them..

  • Great song. Always surprised that it's not more widely known.

  • Pretty much a perfect pop song. Loved this then and now.

  • Such a sad loss. RIP Stuart.
