I have this plane and did the same maneuver as at 0:57 and the force of negative Gs caused the battery to come loose....the magnetic hatch cover had no chance of stopping it, so both of them fell off. The plane then went and hit a wire fence putting a few cuts in the wings :-(
So lesson learnt, ALWAYS secure the hatch cover, either with tape or a large rubber band around it.
I bought my dynam 185 from nitroplanes.love the plane/glider.crashed first two flights. It had a hard time staying level, but with some adjustments to the alerons (1 slightly up and 1 slightly down) she flys great!Lost a battery and esc from flying inverted.(tape on the canopy cures that)but other than that its a great plane and easy to fly.Keep up the good work nitro planes..@ falcon2160...get a life.its only a little over a hundred bucks.go to your local hobby shop and see if you can do better.
What is going on here? I've sent 2 previous emails reporting a damaged product. Yet, NP staff ignores them. Why?
I ordered a second Sonic 185 because your store did not have wings alone for my Ist 185. When I received it I opened the box to find the rudder completely torn from the tail. This is the 2nd or 3rd email to get a RMA number to return and exchange it for a new one. Mind you I only needed the wings.
What a was of money I bought this broke on 1st flight as nosed into the ground. Have repaired it and yet to fly. It goes about 1 metre then nose into ground and its balanced. I have given up its like a weight I could fly a stone better than this and it would go further.
it is underpowered. i just bought it and it needs more power. but it certainly glides well and stays up long. doesn't want to come down. got to be careful launching it or you can crash it. but excellent flying plane. i programmed flaps for landing. this thing needs to have some brakes to slow down.
Does not look like flying exactly excellent; my old Easystar(retired due to old age, foam weakened too much to fly) flew better when it could .Saving money for Hitec's Easyglider would be better.
Hi I have had mine for about a month now I got it as a beginner and it has yet to fly it goes about six feet and crashes into the ground, now lost the catch that held the conopy on all the servos buzz like angry wasps so I am not a happy chappy
i got this glider at nitroplanes, service is sucks you never can get any one on the phone or chating with some one on site.looking for parts but that would be a dream come true
Doesn't really help that much because the snakes are so incredibly stiff and plus you need hands of a surgeon just to do it. If you so slighly overtighten the screw (which was what happened to me) the arms will split as well.
Hardly a begginner model. Too much fuss. Spend the extra bucks and get yourself something with a reputation, (easy glider, radian) etc
bought this and the quality was pretty apalling. Says RTF but in truth it needs SO much trimming. To make matters worse the inner snakes is stiff that the servos are buzzing like crazy all the time. There arnt any adjustable snakes for the ailerons so if they are out of trim (like mine were) you're out of luck. I've sent mine back hopefully parkfun can sort it out. The TX seems fairly solid though.
What is the radio control range? I'm looking for a 1000m range. Also, anything with "fun" written on it is a little homo. Would the writing come off easy with the right cleaner? If so, which one? Thanks. Otherwise, it's a nice plane.
The radio control range is over 1000 feet. I don't know about 1000 meters.... Lets just say, you can fly it to a range where you can't even see the glider anymore. If the writing is a decal, just use a hair dryer and blow on it a bit so it can peel off easy. However, if it's painted on, you can use aircraft covering to cover it or a different decal. It's a very nice plane.
@nitroplanes a beginner with skills yes. a pure beginner who never flown before, no way. they will ruin a beautiful flying plane. start with air hogs till you learn to turn and keep the plane up in the air, then fly this plane. yeah!
@nitroplanes : I want to say for everyone to read; "Do not do business with either Banana Hobby, or Nitroplanes. Period. From unreadable instructions to poor quality control, and forget it if you need to return it for exchange or refund. Read NP's contradictory conditions for return. They BH & NP get away with this too often. Don't buy products from either one.
Nice video, but I have finished with Dynam products after I had a Cessna and a coax heli. The product quality is far away from products like Multiplex, E-flite, Parkzone...
Yes, the majority of the time he was power off fool. If you want to see it sloping, then why don't you get one, and take it to a slope, where they allow lithium batteries, hmm?

Out of curiosity, could have just re-centered the servo horns to neutralize the trim?

The Dynam Sonic 185 is a good plane to start off with if you're a beginner.

Can you guys sell the one without the radio since? Perhaps you should stock a receiver ready radio version or ARF.
Trunks800 2 years ago
Dynam currently does not make a RxR or an ARF version.

Well you are also comparing stuff with different pricetag. Horizon stuff is almost twice as much!
shangsandy87 2 years ago
@Free07Style Yes indeed. I have the sonic 185 , a easyglider, a cularis and a radian.
The sonic 185 is the opposite from the radian and the cularis.
The cularis and the radian won't land.
The sonic 185 is to heavy and the wing gives to low lift.
Gliding is no option. Turn the engine off and the sonic 185 falls like a stone.
azezrtyuuiopqsdfghjk 1 year ago
Now that's funny!!
NOT glider music.
NOT gliding either.
Nice looking plane, just needs a glider pilot.
