I heard this song on the radio, in one of my summer vacations. I was looking all over for it with every available clue. The years passed and I gave up. Eight whole years later I discovered Kraftwerk.
Unbelievable! I remember my dad had this album when I was a kid. Amazing....this is 1978?!!!! That sequencer going all the way through is incredible. It just makes me naturally gurn...the BEST sound ever.
Incredible that this album was recorded in late 1977 and released in May 1978. The Europeans especially the Germans and French were way ahead of their time of everybody else around the world in sound style that had not existed in the mainstream of our world yet.
I think Nobuo Uematsu ripped off the chords from 0:32 to 0:44. Listen to his song Anxious Heart from Final Fantasy 7. Either that, or they both used similar chords and tempo. It happens.
It's not just the technology...you got to have great melody too...Kraftwerk always has done. There will never be anyone like them ever again I think? LC
@mistermethmouth - yes, I agree..I made that comment over 2 years ago!...there is so much great stuff about now...but, Kraftwerk (and TD) were pretty much the pioneers of it all
@Leisurecruise I think Kraftwerk are indubitably the pioneer of electronic music (of course, they were not the only ones doing it at the time, but no other artist/artists could come quite as close to the brilliance of Kraftwerk), but I still do not think they were the apex of electronic music.
