I was improv'ing in my first year, but lol, it wasn't very good then. Some people advance faster, or different than others, so I would definitely say it's very possible to be good at it in a year. Me? I probably got decent at it around my 5 year mark tho, lol.

How did you do the pick scrape in the beginning?

I held my right hand gently on top of the strings, and moved up the neck while hammering notes with the left. The result is your right hand hitting all the strings harmonics on the way up or down the neck.

thats pretty sick man. The second part, where you make it flow and put your emotion into it, thats what i want to be able to do someday. I've only been playin for a year, but i'm studying theory, and the way you make it sound meaningful, its truly amazing.
