Thank you for sharing this hilarious movie. I remember watching this movie with my father when I was a little boy. I found it funny than and I find it funny today.
Who was the better comic actor? Danny Kaye or Don Knotts??? Danny Kay is the only actor that I can think of that could have done just a good job here as Don Knots. Don Knotts was something special, and so was Danny Kaye. I wish these two could have worked together. Both of them are brilliant. A word used far to cheaply these days. But these two were
I would nominate three others into that very elite group: Dicky Van Dyke, Red Skelton, and Tim Conway (Tim's work on "The Carol Burnett Show" (check the CB show outtakes too here on you tube for "the elephant sketch and others...LOL!").
Having said all that, I will also say I still LOVE this movie even today (at 48).
As does my young "space crazy" nephew, age seven.
I am very pleased...and grateful too...to be able to "pass it on" to him. :D

Such a charming, innocent time--where movies could be made like this and enjoyed by children.

Don Knotts was a comic genius.
This film, "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken," and "The Incredible Mr. Limpet" are my own three favorites.
My seven year old nephew loves this too even today.
