  • @RichardElden The individual states that make up the United States execute prisoners convicted of premeditated murder by a jury of their peers. People are executed in China for displaying Tienanmen Square pictures or making political blogs.

  • @benpg The US as a nation keeps killing innocent people by the thousands all around the world directly or undirectly, and this has been going on for decades. Don't try to limit the immediate damage to the "Individual States" that conform it.

  • @RichardElden You're absolutely wrong with every thing you have just stated. Add in the fact that the Chinese people live under a government that arbitrarily executes people for speaking against the government, blocks google and other web pages to prevent free information, and can't provide basic necessities like running water to over 60% of its rural population. Yeah, I think I'd rather stick to living in the US.

  • @RichardElden The United States has 12 aircraft carriers, China has one. The United States has 10,000 nuclear weapons, with the most advanced delivery systems on earth, the chinese have 200. The United States has a GDP of 14 trillion. The Chinese GDP is 4 trillion. How is China more powerful?

  • jfk tight ass

  • costners a friend and chief of staff (i quess)in this oe

and in the jfk movie he was the dea to bring a trial in the murder of jfk ??

  • I was five years old during this time. Maybe if Kennedy and those involved could haave looked into the future to our present day, they could have just surrendered then and saved us all a lot of trouble.

  • whoa its buster kilrain from gettysburg awesome!!!!!!!!!

  • Nice job editing the movie down to only 5 minutes! The best scenes all on one clip.

  • What most people don't realize is that the Russians had alot more missiles that were operational that we had no idea about. Had we gone in and gone with the air strikes and the invasion like the military wanted to, it would've been World War 3. A lot of people don't realize that we were closer to nuclear war than people knew. This is a great movie. Great casting too. Greenwood as JFK was one of the better JFK"S that I've seen and the guy who played RFK was very good too.

  • Trigger-happy generals nearly destroyed this country during the Cuban Missile Crisis, not "Those God-damn Kennedys." John F. Kennedy, and Robert F. Kennedy were both great leaders.

  • Thanks Christopherhalbower this is really going to help me in my social studies project

  • americans have the dirty cheek to call them self the land of the free fucken dirty basteds

  • @YUSKHAN Get lost, troll.

  • @AmericanAirlinesRule

''OH Troll,'' I like the work is that an internet geek word your you fucken tramp

  • @YUSKHAN fuck you u fukin bitch ass chink!

  • Greenwood didn't try so hard imitate JFK...he was BRILLIANT in this part.

    Best ever portrayal.

  • This film was so biased against the military it's not even funny. JFK made quite a few mistakes during this time. If you don't believe me, research it. Curtis Lemay performed the Berlin Airlift with great success without starting WWIII, he's shown here as a war loving maniac. Ridiculous revisionism.

  • @theschizoidman JFK was surrounded by hawks, inherited from Eisenhower. The Joint Chiefs lied to JFK about the Bay of Pigs prospects for success(a plan originated under Eisenhower)...knowing full well, that air support would be necessary, thinking that the new president would cave and escalate.

He didn't, then didn't blame anyone, but said, 'Success has many fathers, defeat an orphan.'

    This is history not opinion.

  • @theschizoidman Well the truth is bitter isn't it? Le May was a war monger, you probably don't know what he did to Japanese civillians in WWII do you? This man was probably responsible for the entire fire bombing of Japan's cities with mostly civillian casualties.

  • @daveibukun Le May only firebombed Japan because it was that or invade the mainland at the time. So either one million American lives lost or show the Japanese we aren't going to stop until they surrender. How bout you don't diss the greatest military power in the world you ass

  • @sbchamps99 OH SHUT UP!!!!! LEARN YOUR HISTORY. The fire bombing was not an alternative to bombing Japan. The US was going to invade any way and yes i would diss the so called "greatest millitary power in the world" (the greatest in your mind) whenever i feel like it.

  • @sbchamps99

Fredrick Douglas: A true patriot is a lover of his country who rebukes it when it needs to be rebuked and does not forgive its sins.

Perhaps you should learn something of your own history. Any of us can say anything we want to about the "greatest military power" and we have a duty to.

On the topic of Japan. Bombing it was the the only alternative. Japan itself had little access to natural resources and they were cut off. A blockade was also an alternative.

  • The only downside of the movie is Costner!

  • I also like Bruce Greenwood's JFK in this movie. One of the best that I've seen. Martin Sheen in Kennedy was also good. I do like Steven Culp as Bobby in this movie a lot better than the guy that played him in RFK.

  • Cia wanted an nucleare war but kennedy sayed no but what if he sayed yes? future chuck norris would time travel and save the world and kill the alliens by sending the nuke on them

  • people around him are war mongers.....but his prudent mind and his wishdome save mankind

  • @JVL8701 Keep dreaming. Kennedy wanted to use strategic nuclear weapons. He also escalated the arms race, entered the U.S. into Vietnam and attempted to have a foreign leader assassinated. Very prudent, indeed. Imagine he wasn't handsome. Imagine he wasn't packaged so well to you. Then look at him again. He was a good president, but far from innocent or an angel. Very far.

  • @theschizoidman but he didnt.

  • Dumb question, who is the actor who is speaking at the beginning of this informing the table?

  • Does anyone else think Bruce Greenwood is amazingly hot in this movie? Because I sure think so!!!

  • When Dean Acheson was telling the president how this all plays out, 2:34, it's amazing to me how he could so cavalierly describe this knowing that billions of people could die. Also, how the generals felt that Kennedy was a "coward" for trying to prevent this. These war hawks are like children playing with firecrackers.

  • Steven Culp really looks and acts like Bobby, his movements, his face, his accent.. brilliant!!!

  • I think Culp and Baker playing McNamara were both great

  • Does anyone know where I can watch this movie? Preferably a site that is free with no surveys and no downloads where I dont have to sign up for anything.

  • thank god bush was,'t pres back then or any republicanpres

  • @934johno

Also thank God Kennedy wasn't your typical tail between his legs libtard.

  • @KiloByte69 Exactly. His policies mirror that of most Republican leaders far more than Democrat leaders. The party of JFK is long gone. Dean Rusk, JFK, RFK, Bob McNamara are now replaced by the Pelosis, Bidens, Deans. Pretty scary.

  • Is there a movie on the Bay of Pigs invasion and the rest of the Cold War in a whole movie?

  • It is a good movie and the fact that people are subjective enough based on an accent is infantile

  • Yes, Bruce Greenwood was a very good JFK, but no better than William Devane's portrayal of JFK in "The Missles of October."

  • i agree....i actually give the edge to Devane in terms of personality, mannerisms and portrayal of leadership dynamic.

  • @vardiss22 I do love some of the banter that was in the film between Kennedy and his generals....especially when one of them said to Kennedy "you're in quite a fix Mr. President." I am fairly certainly that this exchange really did take place with Kennedy shooting back, "well if I'm in a fix....you're in it with me."

  • I like Bruce Greenwood as JFK. I think his portrayal was one of the best ever of the late 35th President.

  • I think Greenwood's voice was a bit too deep for him to be a believable Kennedy, but he played the part very well.

  • @DaftSwank

I completely agree. Although Greenwood's physical resemblence to JFK is relatively slight, he captured Kennedy's nuance and ability to see shades of gray very well. I believe that nuance and talent to "project out" move and counter-move by the Soviets and us served him and the nation very well during the Crisis. I think the reference to "The Guns of August" was perfect, something Kennedy himself talked about as required reading for his advisors. A good man at a difficult time.

  • Dylan Baker's Robert McNamara was pretty good too . . .

  • @DaftSwank yea he just doesnt look like the real jfk

  • @DaftSwank I agree, but I think they should let Troy Aikman play him lol

  • @DaftSwank mr. greenwood did not actually look much like jfk but he DID portray his demeanor quite well.

  • @DaftSwank Greenwood was great and so was Steven Culp as RFK. Bruce Greenwood said that he and Culp would call each other up during filming and speak to each other in character.

  • @DaftSwank I agree. Martin Sheen also gave a good portrayal of JFK in the 1983 television mini-series Kennedy and Patrick Dempsey wasn't bad as a young JFK in JFK:Reckless Youth.

  • @DaftSwank I agree. I thought his accent and pace of speech was particularly well done.

  • This isn't a permission slip, this is your report caaaaaaaaaaaaard!

  • Costner RUINED this movie with his FAKE ACCENT(sp?)

  • @cwhitfield1138

Agreed with, but only to a point. I think the movie was pretty good in spite of Costner's "Baaaasss-taaann accient." I thought Bruce Greenwood was quite good as JFK, and Stephen Culp did an admirable RFK. The fasciniating point for history is how Kennedy asked his advisors for frank and candid advice - thereby avoiding the "Group-Think" mentality that led to the disaster at the Bay of Pigs.

  • I think this is an exceptional film but Costners fake accent ruins it for me. Costner said himself i didnt want to play him without an accent because then it would just be me playing a character. Big mistake. Greenwood and Culp are spot on, GREAT choices

  • @cwhitfield1138 "This is your report caaaaaarrrd!" Also loved the scene where he had to run (in slow motion nontheless) after the U-2 shootdown.

  • Costners accent is AWFUL

  • @cwhitfield1138 yeah im from boston and i feel its one of the hardest accents to portray.. i feel like if you cant do it dont. its not like the boston accent has anything to do with the story, its not like its good will hunting and it takes place in boston. costners a great actor to and it was distracting. i think it was 1 of those times where the actor prob had more influence then the director.

  • The funny thing is the character hes portraying didnt have an accent. Costner, i agree is a fine actor but here, he makes a great movie just good.

  • the actor who plays jfk is my teacher's best friend. I had a chance to meet him last year at a lecture at my school but i missed out. Now he is captain pike in star trek and i don't have his autograph :(

  • Bruce Greenwood gave the best portrayal of President Kennedy ever, in my opinion. Steven Culp was uncanny as Bobby Kennedy.

  • where is the whole movie online??????????

  • You got a netflix account??

  • Goodness, can you imagine being the president of the USA? The kind of incredibly tough decisions you have to make that possibly determine the fate of the world.

  • At least Kenedi had.. almost all next presidents only did direct attacks.. i have seen no other complicated situation handle with the care Kenedi put into avoiding any blood.. even when that U2 was shot down and the pilot killed..

  • Unnerving

  • @daveibukun

Yup. Few men in history have had the responsiblity of leading the most powerful nation on the planet. Em

  • @daveibukun

The most difficult job in the world.Undeniable.

  • can u upload the movie??? or tell me where i can find this movie online?

  • Or you could buy it for around $5 on Amazon.
