  • wery fast. And great noise!

  • awesome superb 150 kmph action..

  • hope they build High speed rails and replace our ancient bogies with LHB soon. Its sad to see those bogies from which shit falls onto the tracks for all the world to see!!

  • I dont care whether it's 150 or not but boy it's Fucking Fast..and a magnificent sight for train Aficionados..

  • sure the speed is somewhere around 130, definitely not less than that

  • Watched this Video 100 times but not still bored !!

  • how do you no the speed?

  • damnit.....it is around 150.....cant u see fools?

  • @Pathriciya R U NEW BORN TO EARTH...the train is definetly over 140 kmph..look carefully

  • its 80 or 90km/h

  • max 90kmph

  • its nt 150 u fool

  • @TheSachinacharya Then wats it, u bigfool.......??

  • Comment removed

  • @TheSachinacharya

Ah i opened this video only to find ur pathetic comment. Group up boy..Mummy ko bolo Horlicks pilaye

  • Shatabdi and Rajdhani are the fastest trains in india... with a Max speed of 150kmph.. there is no train above that speed... coz our tracks are not designed for higher speeds... Source Indian Railway

  • @Pathriciya

    I got around 140 kmph....

    Length -> 11 coaches + engine -> around 264m

    Time -> 6.75 - 6.8 s

    Speed -> 39 m/s -> 140 kmph

    Pretty fast

  • @Pathriciya Its not 150 but its definitely a lot more that 100 kmph

  • 129.8 kmph

    thumps up

  • Well frnd No doubt its d most thrilling speed on you tube of any indian train thnx 4 it..the train was surely between 130 to 140 kmph..and d train crossed u within 6 second n the avg length of Shatabdi train is abt 286 meters.. and nw if someone has doubt can calculate the speed..!

  • Interest !!..... Train must limit 150kph. I see the rail-line are not perfect smooth ride ! One day, they will happen accident when bad a rail track.

  • And a man and a cyclist beats the so called 150kmph Satabdi. LOL

  • the average speed of shatabdi exp.is 46km/hr.and rajdhni exp is 85km/hr.

    mr.deba

  • @debasissarkar2007 bhai kyo tere dadaji chalte hai maalgadi samaj kar

  • @debasissarkar2007 depends on which shatabdi or rajdhani you are talking about, and bhopal shatabdi has an avg speed of around 90 kmph and have fastest speed of 150 kmph for about 180 km track between faridabad and agra your stats are too old dude . . !!

  • Why aren't the locomotives aerodynamically shaped? Anyone know?

  • @sadhaklal Aerodynamic shape becomes effective when speed is bout 200 kmph or higher, Shatabdis average speed is bout 100. Benefits from drag reduction at this speed range will be negligible

  • @gqptyu Have you seen road cycling (such as Tour de France)? In a team, the guy in the front works the hardest because he 'cuts through the wind'. Thats why they take turns to be at the front. These guys go at far less than 100 kmph. Same with migratory birds that fly in a formation. Even cyclists helmets are aerodynamically shaped. I know air friction increases with velocity. But I'm sure there will be some savings (in fuel) by having a smoother shape, no?

  • @sadhaklal It depends on scale. For a cyclist or a small bird, having aerodynamic shape helps even at 80 kmph. But for a 6000 hp WAP7 running on average at 90-100 kmph only, benefits from drag reduction will be outweighed by the cost involved in additional metal sheeting, initial investment for upgrading the design and the factories and the power consumed in carrying the extra weight.

  • wow! that was superfast, it just passed in a jiffy :)

  • @Pathriciya

Talk practically and not jus wat u think is right...

  • @grandtrunkgt

I estimate the track speed is around 115km/hr..maybe a little more.

  • d best video ever... jus <3 it... hav watched it 100 times..

  • @abhishekwag9

    Thanx

  • Fucckkk what a video!!!! Gave me Goosebumps!! Bloody awesome!!

  • if that cycliest would have got 6 seconds late ...then it would have all ended for him

  • Fantastic Video

  • people in india dont care about themselves ........that man on cycle is a example

  • just flying ...

  • That cyclyist is bolder than james bond.. i bet he was whisteling too..

  • top Speed 161Kmph

  • @samarth010192 not allowed over 150 kmph.

  • Indian railway is best in the world......in quality, cheap fair, largest organization in profit......fuck those who hate Indian railways...wait DRDO develop engine and coaches for high speed train in India (250 to 320 km/h) .First trial is in between 2011last or in 2012.

  • @1989upendra its good to know someone is optimistic about the INDIAN RAILWAYS...GRT GUNS!!

  • @chukandar1...welcome yarr

  • @1989upendra why would DRDO develop, its the job of our CLW and its on its way of developing our WAP5 to upgrade its speed to reach 200kmph

  • @lalitpv07 yeh bro you are right....

  • @lalitpv07 You are right bro. Thanks for your support.........

  • @1989upendra true. very true, our IR is the best, speed doesnt matter always, there are many things other than speed which make ours much superior than the rest of the world.

  • I don't know about you since you're clearly a braver man than I am, but I'd be pretty uncomfortable with a train thundering by barely six feet from me; even more so had another one zipped by on the other track.

  • The cow looked at it and said..uhmm no thanks but the guy on the bicycle had less brains than the cow managed to somehow cross it. :)

  • yar aap loge sab ahmaq ho agar iss ko fast kahtay ho

  • yar aap loge sa ahmaq ho agar iss ko fast kahtay ho

  • once train speeds start going to 250 kmph - i'll start making YT videos on TRACK KILLS - like of that idiot on the cycle who was crossing the tracks!!

  • this is a low quality train

    heppal

  • @hardikkatyarmal123 hardik bhai agar isse fast indian train mile to mujhe batana.

  • good camera quality.... really its good...

  • thrilling...........

  • excellent video !!!!!!!!!!!!

The video has been taken at the right time and place i.e when the train is doing MPS 150 kmph

amazing, this may even be above 150

    good horn as well

  • gr8 capture yaar ,nice follow

  • We need more speed

Countries like south korea r having faster train

v have d largest railway in d world

soon we will make it to meglev , ICE kindda trains...!!!

  • @ricky69bond that would need massive amount of money for upgrading our rail tracks and to operate the trains at such a high speed. thus tickets will be more expensive. thats a bad thing since we are a country with 40% of the population at below poverty line :(

  • @squallpi Lal bahadur Shastri ji was A railway Minister First He had said If he overcome the corruption in Railway He can Make whole rail tracks network of Gold He was right Making it to bullet train Meglev is not a big deal Its matter of Political will more then that will of Indian People Tickets will be costly but due to huge crowd we it will get cheaper like Delhi Metro (Its from germany too)
  • Fantabulous ...

  • excellent!

  • Thats super duper fast train of India! I love it!!!!! Wish to travel by it once! :)

  • when i was a kid i always wanted to press that horn!!!...best part of the job!....

  • but yea this aint 150

  • Guys,

I was travelling by Bhopal Shatabdi Express 3 days back, & noted the maximum speed of the train at 160KM/HR through my NOKIA N-97 GPS system software from AGRA to New Delhi.

You may also give a try....

  • was the goods at a platform

  • it cannot be 150kmph, 'cause at junctions it needs to slow down from its max capacity

  • which junction your talking about?

The place where i took this video is a small way-side station with just 2 main lines and 2 loops for the platforms...

No train slows down unless there's any speed restriction or caution order due to technical reasons.

  • @grandtrunkgt junction means the place where railway track join or divide into more

  • @hamedishere even though its a junction it is traveling in the main line so there is no need to reduce the speed..if it gets diverted into the diverging lines then it has to slow down

  • i agree its speed is abt 140 something,,,,i frequently,,,travel in shatabdi,,

  • Its not too fast there are some other faster trains

then this one this seems to have average speed...!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Can u point out a few on IR that are faster than 2001/2002?

  • @grandtrunkgt .

When I was Preparing for civil services

I was told satabdi exp. between Delhi Ludhiyana is the fatest

If search internet Bhopal satabdi is said to b the fastest train

with commercial speed of 90 km / h

  • Bhopal shatabdi has always been the fastest train on indian railways since the beginning. In the early 90s it had an MPS of 140 km/h...

Technical terms regarding the speed are Booked speed and maximum permissible speed.

The bhopal shatabdi has a max permitted speed of 150 km/h

  • @jsvjuggernaut It is touch 150 kmph !

  • good speed!!! 108km/hr

  • can u tell me ur method of calculating the speed of 108 km/h????

  • in whole entire youtube thats what i found about india its not even 150

and point dosent mess with wrong info

its like stupidity level in india is more higher than anything technical anywhere

  • Awesome!! I hope Indian railways will have its very own TGV or bullet train

  • Nice vid!

  • I'm bloody glad I wasn't the poor driver of this fast train.

  • Wow! That was quick by any railways standards. 5*

  • Broad gauge is an advantage. Check out the videos of Arzan1980.

  • two crazy men crossing without having no clue about the deadly speed, but good video

  • That looks more like 120-130 km/h to meeeee

BUT videos can be deceptive so I am wrong.....

  • 93 MPH 150KM/H wow thats sure fast

  • The quick 'wheezing' sound as each coach passes the cameraman does not occur at low speeds. The train is traveling close to but not at 100 mph. We don't have any trains, as far as I know, that exceed speeds of 150 kmph.

  • @jalexrosh ,

You have serious eyesight problem if you think this is 110kph. This is much faster than that.

The train speed near my station here in the UK is well over 150kph. I know what i can see here

  • You can see in the beginning of the video that it changed the track, so it must have lowered the speed, otherwise the train would have gone much faster.

  • It did not change any track... There is a slight curve and from d angle i took d video shows it very clear.

Shatabdi was doing 150 km/h which is its max permitted speed, it couldn't have gone any faster than this no matter what

  • @grandtrunkgt

    awesome video...

  • @grandtrunkgt its not 150. no way..mumbai suburban trains go this fast..wtv u say expert dude...its not 150. nice try

  • Don't just assume the speed. Mumbai suburban trains travel at max 80 km/h...

And if ur saying this shatabdi is travelling at 80 km/h, then u got to go check ur eyes

  • @grandtrunkgt how do u even judge the speed of a train? that too from where you're standing? its no secret that most people DIE while crossing the tracks simply because they cant judge the speed of a train. in that case, they think its slow, but its faster than it appears. oh my god. i think i just destroyed my point

  • I don't see any point arguing with you as ur talk is totally non-technical...

There is some difference in an ordinary man and a railfan in judging the speed.

I guess u should know this point well, if not, plz don't take the trouble to keep commenting anymore. thank u

  • @grandtrunkgt yeah whatever ok goodbye

  • @grandtrunkgt dude..mumbai sub. trains do at maximum speed of 100kmph..this train in this video is surely doing well over it.may be at 150kmph

  • @jumpinjamaica5,

This train is certainly approaching 100mph. I know this because i travel by train in the UK here daily. The express trains have speed limit ranging from 90mph to 125mph. This Shatabdi train is certainly about 90mph or higher from my experience

  • @sonofthedestroyer 100 miles an hours? 160 kilometers an hour? are you kidding me? u can be in the UK but trains in india rarely cross 150kmph, let alone this one. thats just silly

  • @jumpinjamaica5 the fastest train in India regularly hits 200kmh on every journey it takes

i think it's safe to say they cross 150kmh...

  • @Amtrak1194 thats utter nonsense. trains do not cross 150 kmph in india dude google that and see. we just dont have the kind of infrastructure yet for special high speed tracks. oh hell why do i even bother to reply?

  • The MPS is 150 km/h and that too only for the Bhopal shatabdi. If the Loco pilot set the BPCS at 150 km/h which has a +- 3 km/h speed variation, d loco might overspeed marginally but 160 is very hard to believe unless there are trials being conducted. Also the GPS is not 100% accurate at many times...

  • @jumpinjamaica5 it does.. google is wat u need

  • @jumpinjamaica5 mumbai trains reach upto 80..

  • yeah i heve experienced it's speed

  • I agree. This train is approaching 100mph.

In our local area here in the UK, the express trains have a speed limit of 90mph (100mph at night i think). And they appear to be the same speed appx to the train in this video

  • As a train driver (Salisbury 159's) I'd say that this train is easily doing 140 to 150kmph - roughly 90mph. The curve is deceptive. If you type in the search class 159 at Surbition - this is going through at 80mph (line speed there) or 130kmph. The Indian train is going much faster.

  • that fuckin guy on the cycle doesn't even care if its a fast train!!! lol

  • Typical Indian Subcontinent! A very fast train approaches and some guy is casually cycling across the track like nothing to worry about

  • @sonofthedestroyer its INDIA dude, there is no diversity as india has in this world

  • @sonofthedestroyer and guess what.........he knew it would miss him and it did. I'm a driver and couldn't care less when people do this. If I aint going to get them it's not an issue. Some of my prima fucking donna mates would go off sick.

  • Come on for you any fast speed is 150kmph? This is probably more like 100-110kmph (based on the other videos I've seen of it going at its max speed). Plus there was a curve it took at the beginning of the video which makes me think it was even slower.

  • Mr kapil jain please dont argue on the speed fact and nor do i find it necessary to give u any bit of explanation. There are many rail guru's present in our group, if u wud like u can ask them these questions... And for ur information u need a lot of experience to come to judge the speed of a passing train. It's not possible by seeing a few videos on youtube.

So spend ur time if u want to take experience and then come and talk to me

  • ya grandtrunkgt is right its because of the zoom that it appears slow

  • @grandtrunkgt I agree with you....kapiljain needs to overhaul his sense of speed and judgement....the bhopal shatabdi is the fastest in india....and the wheezing sound as the coaches past by clearly indicates that the train is much much faster than 110 or 100 as claimed by the "self proclaimed" rial gurus like KAPILJIAN....

    keep rocking grandtrunkgt....

  • @AvishCar18

I guess based on the comments here I've to agree I'm wrong about its speed (though it is still difficult to believe it is doing 150kmph). And btw, I never proclaimed myself to be a rail guru.

  • erm... How you know the speed of the train?

  • Search "Shatabdi Express" in wikipedia(dot)org and you will find it...

  • Dude the "wiki" article has no references regarding speed. Atleast a press release by Indian Railway should have been linked to it, if there was any such release. The WAP-5 Engine has the capability and the track can has been improved to handle the speed.

Still what is the guarantee that 'in this' clip the train was travelling at 150kmph?

For your own sake dont just rely on "Wiki"!

  • These are all calculations with the loco length , coach length (with buffer) and the time taken to pass accurately, and so on....

  • bharat ki shaan!!

    Jai Hind

  • which video recorder did u use ?

    nice camera

    >25fps

  • I used Canon S2-IS and recorded at 640 X 480 30 fps

  • Kya baat hai! you find such a nice place to capture your video, its wonderful.Shatabdi at its maximum, i suppose.

  • good video

  • Good work! Swaran. Shatabdi was amazing.

  • Very Good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • actually fast nice video thanks

  • that was fast

  • I guess the video must be playing in a less fps on ur machine, u need to hav a check...

  • nope, it's 6.72 =)

  • What do u mean by 6.72????

  • awesome video !

  • i did travelled in this trian from delhi to bhopal it takes only 7 hour 30 minutes ...it has awesome speedddddddddddd

  • incredible india

  • @ravijit9 incredible because people can be stupid?

  • @bioskope but we r not as stupid as americans

  • @bioskope but we r not as stupid as u americans

  • @Anirudh814582

Nope, 'u' 'r' not as stupid as Americans.. haha.

  • the engine looked like a bullet coming!!

  • did it change tracks at the beginning of the video. love the speed. Kool video.

  • yup..

    it did changed the track...

  • It did not change the track but at that point there was a slight curve on the main line...

  • It is 144 Kmph!!

6 sec it took exactly from loco to guard comp.

apprx length = 12 X 20 =240 m (As one of the member has also said)

    so, dist covrd in 1 sec = 40 m

    .'. Speed = 40 X 60 X 60 = 144 kmph

  • Plz refer to my earlier post to find out the exact time taken for the 11 coaches + the loco to pass & also the exact length of the coaches and the loco....

  • Gud nice speed. Liked it. (from Pak)

  • thanks a lot

  • Thanx for the video grandtrunkgt. What is most impressive about this clip is the zoom of your camcorder. Really amazing!

  • Hi! thanks for the nice movie.

    I am a Japanese.

I see there are some persons passing

before the train passsing at high speed!

    Very dangerous!

Please Tell me in which country this fast train runs.

  • india

  • The exact speed of this Shatabdi is 123 kph.

    How?

The train passed completely from 0:20 to 0:27 i.e. 7 sec.

    Total length = 11 + 1 loco = 12*20 = 240m

    Speed = 240/7 = 34.28 m/s = 123.42 kph...

  • Its the top speed of 150 km/hr. Just like a car, it doesn't always run at top speed. Infact it runs at that speed only at one section of its journey.

  • How do you know the exact length of the train?

If the train 12*24.31 meter it would be 150 kph

  • Wow!!!! Shatabdi rocks..... Speed around 130-140 Km/hr

  • i have a doubt. does it hit the same speed on its way back from bhopal during night time??

  • Oh yes it does regularly... And once i have seen it personally passing ajhai at 149 km/h

  • Haha! It zooms past so fast that the sound from EOTGs (End Of the Train Generator) is not audible at all!!

  • Great!!!!

  • thats like 80 km/h, not 150.

  • i guess u saw the bicycle doing 80 km/h in the video instead if seeing the train... Do have a look once again

  • I guess "Mr. don't know what he's talking about" hasn't seen anything going faster than 80 kmph. That's the reason he still insists it's 80 kmph

  • No way its 80!

  • According to a one Mr. Mishra who designs WAP 5s and 7s. WAP 5s have a top speed of 225 KMPH. Well, Surely it's not 80 as what you've mentioned.

  • sheer power and class of the fastest train in India and the fastest loco WAP5 - we indians will never change , crossing tracks casually right in front of a speeding train at 150 km/hr

  • cool never ssen a wap 5 doing so much speed 150kph! cool yar really make lot of videos like this yar apne ko dekhne ka hai

  • why was that idiot riding a cycle when he clearly saw the train come? Indians need to be VERY CAREFUL, no wonder many people die this way
