by rights it's prounouned HUgaaden. I like white beer, but I've tasted better. There are better versions that come from Germany. Although it's still better than Bud Light Lime, but that isn't hard
I found this beer last week & might get one for a try one of these days b4 its gone from the shelf. This is a wit(wheat)beer as far as i understand. cheer's. I dunno where the glass is sold
wanted to like it, but its soapy, bland, lacks any of those coriander or orange peel smells I was promised. leffe is better. altho not the corked bottles, they're just too sugary.
Oh damn, you mentioned the American Pie thing LOL! AHAHAHA
I was buying beer with my friend yesterday and we were trying to decide what to buy and I almost bought this tuff until I saw it said on the box something about cloudy color....I don't drink hefenwiezens or ANYTHING with a cloudy color after seeing american pie.....and it just looks gross in a glass. It was the most expensive beer on the rack orginal price 19.99 and with a fry's card 13.99
@MrSkunkd0c It has nothing to do with political correctness, and my feelings are not hurt in the slightest. I'm just pointing out that you're wrong in thinking there's not a difference. It's been a year and you haven't managed to figure that out?
@MrSkunkd0c You've yet to distinguish your own opinion of "beer snob = beer enthusiast" as not being fact. Fantastic blinders you're wearing there, nut case. Either that or you're trolling. Blocked.
Yeah, I know it's only 4.9% ABV. I stated this in the video. Are you sure you're not thinking about their Grand Cru (8.7% ABV) and Hoegaarden Speciale (5.6% ABV)? Because those are different beers than the standard Hoegaarden Wit.
no its the same as Hoe white beer as the 1 in ur vid well apart that a drink the Big ass 750ml bottles. A traveled in Europe an went to Belgium and all the beers and lagers that we have in Britain and the rest of the world are apparently weaker versions
I'm sorry, but I can't stand the sound of your voice in your beer reviews.Gosh, you're huffin and puffin every time you talk; like you haven't exercised in years.
Yeah, I like it, but it's hardly my favourite beer. Anyway, if you honestly think Hoegaarden's taste is akin to wine, you've got issues...you know, besides being another of the countless pathetic YouTube trolls.
Might sound strange but i like it best in cans...You should definitly try the Hoegaarden Grand Cru. Maybe harder to get in the US - luckly i work at the hoegaarden brewery :-)
Hoegaarden on tap, no fruit = delish. It's so much better on tap. However, since InBev took over and improved distribution, I have noticed that the beer at the stores is MUCH MUCH fresher and easier to get. USD$12 per 12pack around here is a good price. I love this beer, and I have yet to have a so-called "Belgian White" that is as good. Blanche de Bruxelles is good, but not as good as Hoegaarden, and not worth the price.
I just tried Hoegaarden at Maxwell's Plum this evening and I thought it was enjoyable. They served it cloudy with a lemon wedge. At first I was like "WTF" but once I tried it I was pleasantly surprised! I think this is exactly what I'd want on a really hot summer's day.
Well, on general principle I never add fruit to a beer. I do realize that it's a popular thing to do with white beers, but Hoegaarden doesn't need anything added, in my opinion. Indeed, it's a great summer beer.
sorry bro didnt mean to sound pissed, i get excited about my beers. but you should do a vertical tasting of a magic hat pack. Or try and find a nice IPA
Smells like fucking oranges!! Lol. Picked it up randomly at a grocery store, and one of the only ones I drink here on out. Wish I could get it off tap though. Where did you get the glass?
I got both that and my Leffe Blonde glass from a special promotional deal years ago, when those beers were first showing up in my liquor store. It should be noted that they are the mini versions of the real glasses that you find in pubs.
My favourite.

One of my favorites by far. Drinking a bottle right now in fact. It has a nice smooth taste and an interesting after taste.

$2 a bottle? Must be that Canadian dollar. I can pick up a sixer for $9.99
I like the beer in the summer, not top of the line, though. A give it a 4/5, 4.5/5 if you take in account the price and the warm temperatures outside.

I can imagine you love telling folk they are wrong about things
what makes you think you have the authority to tell anyone they are wrong about an opinion ?

Looked at reviews and the most where positive, so i gave it a shot.
In combination with a horrid movie (dragonball evolution) I could only drink half the glas until it went into the bottle again.....
I opened my Rochefort 8, drank it and felt happy again.
xiz90 2 years ago
You drank it from the bottle? That's half the problem right there.
elsquibbs 2 years ago
As i said: " I could only drink half the glas".
I never drink out of the bottle..
xiz90 2 years ago
Hey, you forgot to swirl up the bottom of the bottle. It's like juice from concentrate - you gotta shake it up.
Chad9976 2 years ago
Yeah, kind of forgot to do that. I'll shake it up next time when I do a Hoegaarden taste test in different glasses.
elharlock 2 years ago
damn... went to a bar and drank it, it tasted like they watered it down compared to the one i drank from the bottle... bastards!
