  • Polak :P

  • Fucking brave girl I would of passed out and I'm 14

  • What did you ask her to keep her so calm?

  • good girl. Brave girl

  • does the needle hurt??im having one today :(

  • working on young children in my office we do both we do behavior management like mbodal said and we also have them do an exercise. like asking them to keep their leg up. if we are numbing the rite side of the mouth we ask them to hold up their left leg in the air. it distracts them from the needle since their brain at that age isn't able to to concentrate in both area and since the leg thing is harder for kids it keeps them occupied.

  • Is this being performed from a 9 o'clock position?

  • Just watching this is freaking me out. I totally HATE the dentist.

  • WOW! I hated those as a kid. She did great!!!

  • good child I hate getting that done it's sore.

  • The verbal communication seems really good, however; I have 2 notes regarding the injection technique in this video:

1- Usually we need more time between the topical anesthesia and the injection, in this video there was only 20 seconds between the gel application and the injection which is usually not enough.

2- The dental assistant have to set in the other side of the dental chair opposite to the dentist so that she can control any sudden untoward movement of the child's hands

  • Thank you for your comment. I use 20 per cent bupivacaine named Topex. It is much more efficient than lidocaine.

  • I beg your pardon - of course I meant benzocaine. Topex is 20 per cent benzocaine topical anestetics.

  • Is that the stuff they rub on your gums before injection or what is that for?

  • @ilovehandbags06 They rub it on to numb you so you won't feel the shot.

Open your mouth, ignore the pain, you're gonna get some novocaine!

  • How did you keep her so calm? Unfortunetly, I don't know what you are saying to her, but the proecess was so relaxed, it must have gotten through to her.

  • This is called bahaviour management or iatrosedation - the art of communication with pediatric patient.

  • She was soo brave!! She looked soo comfortable through the needle!
