What's notable about the Needler that in "Fat Kid" variants of infection in Halo3(where the alpha zombie is slow but incredibly durable) the needler is incredibly effective against him, draining his shields and blowing him back.

Perhaps this is why in the interest of balance, it wasn't dualwieldable in H3.
