I don't agree with all his ideas, but he was a man -I think- of conviction and as this compilation of air farce appearances shows...he was a good sport and the Canadian political landscape is less for his absence...leaders debates or scrums or question periods...he was able to articulate the left in a way that was very compelling to a lot of people...I don't think the left is as good on financial issues, but I do think that sometimes the left has some good ideas that are worth listening to.

His role was to inspire the youth and to "lay the foundations for generations to come". His role was to inspire the youth and to "lay the foundations for generations to come". Jack had something that all the other candidates didn't have and that was being personable because god forbid a candidate had that. That is why the NDP rose like it did these past couple of years because Jack believed in the people. Instead of filling your mind with utter bull shit he filled everyone with kindness and optimism for the future. R.I.P Jack, you were the best Prime Minister we never had.

Regardless if you liked or disliked the NDP - none of that matters. This man had conviction, character and truly loved his country. He was a man of his words and did what he said he would do. He was easy to approach and talk to by anyone. How many top politicians are like that? Much respect to you Jack and may future political leaders learn to have even an ounce of your passion and conviction.

I hope, SOON, we have the opportunity to see another truly dedicated person like Jack Layton. I feel that most Canadians have been kept in the dark as to how much pain Jack actually went through upon his passing. Was he under the influence of narcotics? Was he forced to bite upon a leather belt to stifle his screams? Perhaps we may never know.
