No, it's a friend. He is one of the hosts of a local swiss tv show...and I was one of the cameramen/cutters. We made this for a 'Bond Special' (it's the 'Craig vs. Brosnan' clip in my profile). We hade very little time and didn't try to make it perfect, but I spend a lot of time later for the post production to make it look a little bit better.

Didn't have a background as well. I cleaned it in After Effects with the Paint tool, frame by frame...one hell of a work, very time consuming! It's better to have a background as bright and clean as possible to start with, it saves a lot of work.

What is it you don't get? Be a little more specific. If it's about the layer itself: you have to "paint" it yourself. Use a circle brush the size of the hole and animate it with keyframes. But be aware that the size varies slightly, so adapt the size of the brush!

Exactement! Tu dois appliquer l'effet "Key" sur le layer blue screen (choisis le couleur correct que tu as utilisé) pour fair le circle transparent. T'as déjà préparé le video avec le sang ("blood layer")? En fait je suis suisse allemand, mais j'ai appris le français à l'ecole pendant 7 ans et ça semble que je n'ai pas tout oublié! ;)

Well, we never intended to make it perfect. We shot the scene quickly in a parking garage (the guy is a host of local tv's youth programme, not me), at first I didn't even want to clean the background. But then I got stuck in After Effects...! ;) It was a one time thing, just for that particular episode. But thanks for your comment!

Thanks for your support! I know I shouldn't even react on those comments. As for the music: unfortunately the gunshot can't be easily removed, it's part of the track and there's no way to cover it with another part of the music without making it sound strange. BTW, for having it done with Windows Movie Maker, your Barrel looks nice! Try to get into more serious compositing, though. There's even a free but powerful alternative to After Effects called Jahshaka.

Of course the original is better, but that's not the point, is it? They had lots of money to do it..I didn't. Even though the only main difference between my fake & the original is the actor, everything else was taken directly from the movie...as well as the music. I prefer the music from the old days (Connery, Moore) as well, but this one here IS the ORIGINAL Goldeneye gun barrel music - believe it or not.

Yes, it was done completely in After Effects. I suggest (if you didn't already) you take a look at my Quick Video Tutorial to see how I did it. Basically I cleaned the original footage, getting a layer with the blood only on a clean white background (Brosnan completely erased). Putting this layer on top of the guy walking with the 'Multiply' blending mode, you end up with the white being completely transparent and the blood nicely blending over the other footage.

You're perfectly right about the gunbarrel itself showing up later than it should. That's because my friend's walk was too short and it was quite tricky to match everything. I could have done better here, but I was in a hurry. I'm not too sure about the background being too white, though. I erased Brosnan with exactly the same color from the background. Maybe that's just how it looks like in the PAL version of the DVD. Then again, I didn't mean to create a 100% identical recreation.

I've got it directly from the dvd. There's plenty of software around to rip video as well as sound from a dvd. If I remember right I just did it with VirtualDub, both video and audio.

Oh yeah, the plane! ;) Here's the answer: I faded the clip out (very short fade, though) and added a loud reverb effect to the last few seconds of the clip, the last strings chord with that percussive sound effect. With some tweaking to prevent it from getting too loud, I got the end nicely extended.

That's an easy one - I just converted the original VOB file from the dvd to an avi to work with in After Effects (I suggest a lossless codec like Lagarith). Most recent video converters support VOB conversion, so you may use whatever program you like (for example VirtualDub - it's completely free).

No templated used - I basically used the footage from the Goldeneye-DVD and cleaned out Pierce Brosnan. I had to use a separate blood layer and reposition the gun barrel with keyframes to match my friend's walking speed. He wasn't filmed in front of a clean white background, so had to clean that, too.

Thanks for your comment. IMHO, Goldeneye was by far the best Brosnan Bond. Quite full of clichés (bad Russians, etc.) but otherwise fantastic characters and a good atmosphere.
