Why can't I meet an intelligent, switched on, and articulate woman like this with ACTUAL pragmatic views and solutions? I'm so tired of meeting girls in Oregon that are totally whacked out conspiracy thoery / alarmist media.
If we didn't spend money on frivolous corporate entities that create frivolous products by manufacturing demand via ad-spaces for frivolous wants, then we'd have enough money to make the things that matter---sustainable infrastructure, quality education, meaningful employment, etc.
Instead, all we hear is about "creating jobs" that are nothing more than shoveling more useless shit onto the market to be discarded either almost immediately, or by next year when the new version comes out

@storyofstuffproject Yep, except it doesn't happen to ALL videos. I've seen plenty of new videos go viral overnight without this problem. The only theory I've come up with is that YouTube must purposefully limit how fast certain pages can grow to prevent them from hitting the front page. Really sad to me when YouTube is supposed to be a voice for the common man. :(
Omg I love you!!! I have watched all your vids and you are so inspiring!! You actually inspired me to start a recycling program at school were we stack styrofoam trays so that it creates less garbage space and we are saving soooo much money!! Thank you so much for the inspiration!
I hope the new film will include the additional $50 grand per person in the U.S. that our government stole from We the Taxpayers and gave to the banksters, as revealed (via Alan Grayson) in the Government Accountability Office August 2011 report. This was ignored by the media and few are aware. It's over $16 trillion, more than the entire national debt accumulated over 2 centuries, and no one's talking about it. Page 131 of GAO Report No. GAO-11-696.
Perhaps if the military budget wasn't so high there would be billions of dollars more money to fund a more sustainable society. Even a minuscule 1% US military spending cut is a massive amount of money when put towards ANY other purpose.
