  • A comet dislike!

  • *drools XD*

porn is tied to science (in particular astronomy and chemestry) on my top 3 favorite things ;)

  • Great work. Thank you.

  • so where the hell is the doom?

  • Are we absolutly sure it's not man made?

  • Wow. Fantastic Numerical Analysis. Thank you for posting this!

  • who ever said mathematics is boring?

  • NIBIRU !!!!

  • @windatekili lol... it won't ever get near earth... and it was to small...

  • I know this may be a bit dumb but what does "Trojan Asteroid" mean?

  • This is so cool! I love science!

  • so when everyone was sayin i see two suns....they were quick to call bullshit.....but now theirs a reason for that.....

  • @aldarko1 BS... 20.6 magnitude... not even chuck norris can see that, and during tha day, besides the sun? as i said: BS

  • @jonismack1 It was detected in the IR spectrum by a probe with off-set viewing perspective from the asteroid belt, so the sun is not a factor. Not BS... its there.

  • @jacobreinvented when someone on earth mistakes a 20.6 magnitude (remember, 6 is the limit for the human eye) and 300 meters diameter asteroid for a "second sun" its the time to ask them to see a psychiatrist

  • do beliving whatever they say..lol

  • What is it orbiting?

  • @mycamguy Gravity from the Sun and the Earth.

  • Comment removed

  • @ArcaneErudition actually, no... the gravity of the sun is the only force acting on it... the gravity of the earth is negated that is why it is not pulled by our gravity or make it orbit us like the moon... sun's gravity is somewhat reactionary force to another force which is the earth's gravity... so the Trojan is in stable equilibrium... lying at 1 of the 5 points where gravity of the earth is negated...

  • @mycamguy Sun

  • Im skepitacal over anything the Gov/NASA says these days.

Question is, how long have they REALLY known about this, is it true, and why are they telling us now?

  • The distance in this video is not to scale if it was you'd need one heck of a screen. No it is close enough to be effected by earths and by the suns gravitational pull hence the long oblong cork screw pattern. Also for the veering of distance over long periods of time the earths orbit is NOT a perfect circle nor douse it lye perfectly flat to all the other planets and the earth wobbles on it's orbit I think that it is these factors that cause this trojan to behave this way. Hope this helps cle

  • @brotherkantutta The sun's gravity is acting as reactionary force to earth's gravity... one of the 5 points where earth's gravity is negated.. called lagrangian points... that is why it is not pulled or orbiting earth... you see earth is pulling him but sun is also pulling him... he is far enough to negate earth's gravity... it's in a perfect equilibrium...

  • @scapicoco Thanks for the post. I looked up the Lagrangian. Really cool mathematics.

  • Perfect astro for a base to establish on!

  • Very impressive! This makes me wish I worked for a space-mining corporation of the future.

The asteroid is 1,000 feet in diameter; the size here is exaggerated so you can see it (as is the size of Earth in comparison to the Sun), but it's distance from earth varies from 15M to 50M miles. In comparison, the Moon is a mere 250k miles from Earth, placing it inside the exaggerated Earth's diameter on this simulation.

  • It doesn't make sense why they're coming out with this now -- don't tell me they've just discovered since it's not too far from earth.

  • @DazzTyler Egzactly, it's so near and they've discovered just now. Who are we thusting, i ask myself!

  • @HIMYMjocke It hard to discover because it is along the the suns brightness when viewing earth's perspective... it is also very small... we may also have trojans behind earth on its orbit... but hard to see because it is too dark and they are, again, very small...

  • “This asteroid is among the s“This asteroid is among the safest,” said Wiegert. “It never gets particularly close to the Earth, but it doesn’t wander too far away. There is a distinct gravitational link”afest,” said Wiegert. “It never gets particularly close to the Earth, but it doesn’t wander too far away. There is a distinct gravitational link”

----- it's probably been put there by design by some ET.

  • This may sound crazy but if you're any alien person like me you might think not. If you follow alex collier, he said planet earth is passing a dense part of the galactic plane and also mention something about extraterrestrial assisting us by putting an object in-front of earth as it passes the plane to reduce the stress/effect it would otherwise have on earth. This could be the reason why Nasa and others are starting to mention about this asteroid.

  • i guess someone likes us out there in space

  • 1:09 - Why didn't it hit us?! That doesn't make any sense!!

  • @molly6cats

Do you think if it would hit us it would make any sense?

  • @sov19871987 ...Nope actually. Nothing physics ever really makes any logical sense. It's interesting, but it just doesn't make sense. :)

  • NASA waited a year to tell us. Why exactly? In case it was gonna hit us?

  • What's really needed here is a simple explanation of its motion relative to Earth.

How is it that orbits an empty point in space? Why does that point swing back and forth?

  • @SteveOwens54321 Like CrazyDays points out, I think that the Moon-Earth mass system influences a great deal the "weird" trajectory of this asteroid.

It is strange why NASA did not include the moon in this simulation.

  • @circuitochiuso The sun's gravity is the only force affecting the asteroid and that is why it is not orbiting earth or pulled into it... one the 5 points where sun's gravity becomes reactionary force to earth's gravity and completely negate it...

  • @SteveOwens54321

It's in a lagrangian point , see wiki

  • @SteveOwens54321

hey there, I was just reading all the comments and videos on this Trojan Asteroid, and would like to interject.

My father, Martin Connors, has been studying and working to discover, and prove the existance of this asteriod. It moves at the same speed as earth, making it in a constant motion that follows earth. If you travel at the same speed exactly (due to the same time of formation as earth), it will never collide. This is why there is no need for alarm!

  • can some one put the Moon in this too i would like to see the moons orbit too.and the 2 nearest planets. some one ?

  • I thought this was some sort of new condom.

  • SNAFU

  • do not be afraid people it is around earth's orbit but on the yahoo article it will take 10,000 years for it too get close to earth or get away from earth. o we are in no danger or doom of any kind

  • @dudezsazsa It may never even get close... it is in an stable equilibrium where earth's gravity is negated by sun's gravity... that is why it is not pulled into earth... or orbit earth like the moon...

  • woohoooo!

  • ahh. . .really unable to understand what's happening. . !

  • Good news
