Happy Christmas and New Year, NY! It's interesting to see how others celebrate Christmas. I'm from Sydney so our Xmas is warm and sunny .. sitting on a white sanded beach, eating prawns, lobsters and downing it all with gallons of champagne. Gorgeous! Viva la difference...
I left NY about 22 years ago because it is too expensive to retire there. I do miss NYC and the beautiful decorations at Christmas. Thanks for the photos of all the past decorations - it brought back great memories. Miss the food and the culture. Happy New Year to all.
@photoframd No dishonesty intended. These are PHOTOS taken over 7 years. They are an accumulation of scenes and displays NYC has to offer at Christmas time. It was titled with the year 2011, as this is the year we are in. Though some scenes may have changed over the years, NYC always brings out its best during the holiday season.
@photoframd: what the hell is your problem, photoframd!!!? this nice person that uploaded this amazing video (thank you btw.!!) did not 'imply', nor tried he, or she, to imply it is from Christmas time of the year 2011, since this was obviously uploaded in September!! How very rude of you to reply like that: 'NOT' from 2011... yeah, idiot!!! Duh!! and: BE honest and indicate WHEN it was actually filmed! God-gotta love retarded, NEGATIVE people! No wonder this world is turning to poo!
@mcveljo If you bought a book that called "Christmas 2011", what do you think it would be about?? I made my point. And you're the one being rude and negative!
i lived in new york and this pictures brought back the reasons why i love it so much. Thank you for honoring one of the best cities in the world...(during the xmas holiday no other city compares) thank you...love it!
@Newyorkfoodie: NY residents should be so lucky to be living in a place where many tourists rave about because of what NY has to offer. NY is closest to traveling the world. The only reason why i wouldn't want to live in NY because it is known to be the most expensive place to live in. Other than that, NY is a beautiful place 2 B for Christmas
@Newyorkfoodie Actually I am not a tourist, I am a fellow New Yorker. And I do enjoy the city, the pictures are real, the joy of the season is real. Try looking at it as if you were a tourist, you might see the beauty it offers.
@Newyorkfoodie : How patronizing!! That's the one thing I could do without about NYC: The smug attitude of SOME of its residents, but NYC certainly doesn't have a lock on that.
I live in Boston. And this video is truly inspiring. Keep up the good work. Buy your favorite present and gift it to your loved one's this X-Mas. I did the same. I'm very fond of LAVIS SKIN CARE products. Purchased it from facebook online store at a reasonable price.
I desire a NY Christmas greatly. I've never spent 1 Christmas outside my own country and I've never even set 1 toe in snow. I live in a region where it's summer through the whole year. Besides that, they don't even decorate this whole country as much as they decorate it there. The most and largest decorations which you can expect to see are in the shopping malls, which you can't compare to NY by 1% of size and amount. Where do they store all these things, who puts it up and who maintains them?
awesome video! Makes me really melancholic. I hope to create a video as touching as yours when I travel to France to spend the holidays with my daughter.
Nick...your video is amazing! I was hoping that I'd see your photos someday, and it was worth the wait. Personally, I would love to own a book with these photos...memories of the wonderful years that I spent in New York. More importantly, I would love to see your dream become a reality. No one deserves this more than you! Good luck. I'm passing this link on to everyone I know! Miss you...big hugs & much success! --- Karen
Last night I sent this to all my friends/classmates...this is such a terrific video. I rec'd many wonderful comments (and questions). Are you doing a book? Beautiful shots - loved it!!.
@cooknang Thank you for your compliments and forwarding to your friends. I am in the process of looking for a publisher in the hopes of getting a holiday book out there for all to enjoy. Thank you again.
I'm from Brazil São Paulo, I'm 17 years and one day I'll be in this wonderful place!

Since it hasn't snowed in NYC yet this season, this is obviously NOT from 2011. Be honest and indicate WHEN it was actually filmed.
