Hah! That's awesome. I have a mild wheat allergy myself, but I still eat bread and things.. I get bloated and fatigued, but my tongue doesn't swell up. I think it's sort of a type of celiac disease. It runs in my family like that.

I've always assumed a 'years worth' was at least one pizza (or whatever item) a week. It doesn't seem all that wonderful when it's just one a month, really.

I like pizza too, but it gives me indigestion unless I have a very small amount of it. But there's something about pizza that always makes me want more! I don't know if it's the wheat, the tomato sauce, or the high fat content that bothers my stomach! But congratulations on your good luck!

Awe bless. The thing is I am highly allergic to chocolate. And every flipping holiday I get chocolate from my husband or friends and they kinda forget. So of course me loving chocolate I eat it, my tongue just swells I feel really nauseous and break out in hives.. but how can you turn down a gift from your husband?

Oh no! I feel for you - and my mum has just developed an allergy to chocolate so she will be going through something similar in the coming months! It's the worst time of year to get it! Not that any time is good.

They just do wheat-based things. the only wheat/gluten-free pizza I have seen in a restaurant is in Edinburgh (you can buy frozen gluten-free ones some places or make your own, but it's not usual in restaurants).

I don't think you have to eat it if it makes you unwell...I don't think they'll be spying on you through your letterbox to make sure you've eaten it.

Coeliac testing was inconclusive - I have more of a wheat allergy than an intolerance so it's an immediate effect. Then again a day or two later! Which in some ways may be better as at least I can tell if I have accidentally ingested wheat whereas the poor coeliac people don't know until a long time afterwards and the effects will be much worse long term. It also means I can eat barley - which coeliacs can't (though I have to be careful with rye as too much of that isn't good either).

I did read once that people used believe that tomatoes were poisonous, because they're like a big deadly nightshade berry. I love 'em but there's something naughty about tomatoes, not sure what, onions are the same.

Is there not a way you can be desensitised to particular foods? There was something in the news back in February...Google "Hope over peanut allergy 'cure'".

That approach might work for wheat and dairy too. You would have to cut the pizza into tiny slices... maybe share them with all your thousands of viewers.

Send pizza and we can forget all about the lollipop.

Allergic to wheat? If you don't mind me saying this but I heard it on the Radio. Someone else had a similar allergic reaction to some food group and the joke goes, It's like Viagra for the Tongue. LOL
