Interest rates would be determined by the market to more accurately depict the trus cost of credit. So the fed continuously prints out money thinking it will help the economy, but many people say thats not the solution. What would be the solution to fix the problem, all i hear is end the fed, end the fed but i want more info besides that (and yes, i have ron pauls book on order) but id like an answer so i can be "filled in" more.

iscream22, The historical evidence points to central banking systems always ripping off the people they are supposedly created to protect. There are two competing schools of economic theory at odds here. Austrian vs. Keynesian. I'm no expert but Keynesian is based on debt and currency based on faith. It needs an ability to create the illusion of wealth out of thin air to keep up the charade. Austrian is based on production with a currency based on a commodity Read Ron Paul's book "End The Fed"

Its said its unconstutional because the constitution states that there can never be any direct tax on the individual or his labor. Which is what the government is doing when they take income taxes from you.

I really wonder who is waking up. Just talking to people that work in my bank is outright frightening. They seem concerned, but they don't believe there's really anything wrong. I am continually astounded by it all. Maybe this will just go on forever... I hope I see something change before I'm gone. :-)

Yes, there needs to be either a massive replacement of sitting politicans or a huge restructuring of how the country is run. The website thing is ok but know that they are trying to gain absolute control of the net and wish to shut it down at their convenience. "(2) may declare a cybersecurity emergency and order the limitation or shutdown of Internet traffic to and from any compromised Federal Government or United States critical infrastructure information system or network."
The question is how will "they" later define "critical infrastructure information system" or "network", to justify what "they" want shut down.

Before talking about shutting down the fed there needs to something to replace it with. I'm thinking that the power structure wouldn't mind shutting down the fed so they can bring in their solution. Some kind of a world peg. The gold standard has it's problems too long to get into here. Now that I said that I'm sure I'll be called a troll. Returning to the Constitution is critical but it's not quite perfect and one thing I disagree with is the gold standard. Some minor changes need to be made.

The gold standard isn't perfect for sure but it's the best that has worked over centuries. In the news Chrysler wants 7 billion in aid and our legislators are jumping up and down saying "too much money". Yet just a few short weeks ago those same legislators gave the bankers 700 billion, or 100 times as much. The amount Chrysler is asking for now is 1 PERCENT of the recent bank bailout. True the automaker management has made bad decisions too, but this is backbone middle class people in the trenches we are talking about, on the assembly lines, not fat pig bankers.

Interest rates would be determined by the market to more accurately depict the trus cost of credit. Money would either be commodity backed, or would stay paper and would be increased/decreased by a fixed formula as Friedman adovcated. The Fed would still be around but would be limited to it's (original) role of lender of last resort.

Obama probably doesn't stand for this but if his supporters want real change and not socialism they need to look at what they are supporting. Ending the Fed and putting our country back on a good money standard will help everyone.

No video, just a reply about Obama and education. The only dumb people are the ones who elected George W Bush twice, or who still vote for McSame. In Harlem, a project called Harlem Children's Zone has worked intensively with kids from birth and received good results gradually from very poor minority kids, who start out their lives without the educated parents and environments that middle class kids enjoy, and President Obama plans to expand this model into 15 other cities.

The Fed must go, but NOT if it is replaced by a government agency or department. The Constitution only grants the congress the right to mint coins and to define the value of money - how many ounces of gold or silver constitute a "dollar." If the US government gets direct and unrestricted access to the keys to the fiat money printing presses, watch out! And the problem is not the Fed only. Congress has created a whole host of "creatures," like Fannie and Freddie, for example.

Revansny, with respect, Obama could be just as bad as any Republican for this country. It's horrible that there is no more candidate going in the right direction.
