  • Hi,

    you are totaly wrong!

This recording was made in Germany, Hamburg!

    That´s me!

  • LOOOL - daaaaamn, we are sitting here, breaking our mind about soundlogos and in the end it's just one key-hit :-)

Well, we insiders know, but the rest of the world does not care.

I wonder how much they paid for it in the end.

  • i heard that sound once in a completely unrelated documentary in german television

  • Actually, that sample isn't even from EW's Symphony Of Voices. It's from a recording of a boy's choir done for some Church Song CD. Sadly, I can't remember the name.

Second, if you listen closely, you'll notice the same samples in songs on the album "Frohes Fest" done by German Darkwave band Unheilig.

Go figure. Daimler isn't by far the only one to use samples. :)

  • @Vinterthorn

Easy West Symphony of Voices? No such thing.

Spectrasonics Symphony of Voices, yes. And Eric Persing said it WAS from that library with nothing added and they arranged a special licence in advance.

  • Hopefully then at least Eric was the one getting the 250,000 euros, if that was what MB paid out.

  • Geil.

  • Probably not a smart idea to chew gum while you're recording with a mic on.

  • Huahua. That's good one, talking about sond design.

    These are Apple system sounds.

  • it'n not an apple system sound.

it is just a sample from symphony of voices loaded into the exs24

  • Thanks l Mr Schwarzendorfer. Actually, I did understand the vid.

What I meant is: The "chew gum" sound omgangiepants mentioned are the "click and pop" sounds of Mac OS.

  • there were no 250.000 Euros involved, man. I know. I am at the source.

  • Yeah, evilnerdap, right :D

  • Let me ask all of you a question. Why is it that everyone is even paying attention to this? Who cares where they got that lululu from? Isnt it about the car. Jesus christ. I have a Merc myself, and I dont cry everytime I see a Merc commercial I dont like..Get a life people.

  • I doubt it has anything to do with lazy sound design. I'm sure it has more to do with budgets and deadlines which will be controlled by the ad agency working for Mercedes. Many sound designers rely on libraries because the budgets aren't there to hire choirs or orchestras etc

  • But they changed the timing a little bit.

The sample on the keyboard has another timing in the beginning.

  • seriously .. who gives a f....

bought or self-made ... it's not the absolute worst, but definitely one of the most criticized sound-logos in modern advertising history ... at least in Germany.

  • fyi, mercedes bought rights to use the sound from the sample developer.

  • Um.. who cares? Thats what samples are made for right? Or are they just for the bedroom only?

  • Would you use clip art as a logo for a luxury brand?

  • Thanks for sharing - time those lazy sounddesigner get kind of scared, haha... :D

  • verry cool =)
