  • love the girl at the left of the screan she's so fluid

  • They take my breath away.

  • I AM AMAZED!!! God, how can they be so perfect...

  • are they doin balanchine?

  • I think I'm going to cry. I'M TERRIBLE! :(

  • they are perfect! how beautiful!

  • They are dancing it ! :D they are putting all their effort in it ! very good

  • That's beauty right there <3.

  • 綺麗過ぎて恐ろしい

  • holy crap...their attitudes, arabesques, developes, positions, etc, etc are amazing O.O

    perfect!

  • oh my... those attitudes at 1:45 are amazing.

  • Beautiful!

  • dang i wish I was that good. Maybe one day :))

  • I love how the maestro is saying all these remarks in Chinese, then suddenly, out of nowhere we hear "Port De Bras"!

  • their releve' positions are amazing!!!!!!!

  • Wow! I wish I took ballet somewhere other than the united states. Some teachers here just treat it like its a joke...

  • im chinese with the same body like them.. wish i was learning ballet instead of piano, :( my mom forced me to play piano when i was 4 or so, even though they knew my dream is to be a ballerina T_T

  • @gaara7364983 I started both of them (ballet and piano). Then I gave up ballet. I truely love it! But.... it is tough. Just imagine the dancing while playing^^

  • Wow. Beautiful

  • they are sooo beautifullllll omggg

  • Their lines are beautiful....

  • how old are they?

  • Absolutely fantastic.

  • @JubilantMints

To be fair, these are barre excercises, it's really quite hard to look like you have a personality when doing barre excercises lol :)

  • @GurlCat123

I don't understand why you told me that. I understand that well. I just commented on how perfect they are trained.

  • @JubilantMints

oh i'm sorry! i accidentally clicked on the wrong person, i was meant to comment to the comment underneath yours, sorry about THAT :)

  • These girls have no personalities! There like robots! Yes this school is making good dancers, but what about happy, diverse, individuals?

  • @bulbskull they are in class! i think you are biased. americans have this pre- conceived notion that the chinese are mindless robot slaves. american individualism and independence is an illusion.

  • straordinario!

  • i agree with u because except from this they don't have expression!!

  • mio dio...quelle gambe come le alzano!!!!!!!

  • Wow, kudos to these girls! I hope they were/are successful, considering this is class of 2000. I can't even fathom the stress they have with their ballet! Wow!

  • I have a lot of trouble with arabesques and supporting my leg in general but its more of a strength issue... my legs give out and i sometimes cant help but letting them drop from a battement for example even though I am supposed to practice better control... it drives me insane.

  • @TaurusPiscesVirgo this may kill your ego even more, but it'll pay off in the long run. if you go to walmart, buy yourself some ankle/wrist weights, then wear them to class during your barre.it's hard but you build up a lot of strength. pilates is good too ^^

  • SUCH LONG LEGSS!!!

  • how old are they??

  • which one is Zhong-jing Fang?

  • im 95% sure shes the one on the right

  • Comment removed

  • I would just like to point out something. The overarched-back-open-ribs thing is stylistic to Chinese training. My first dance teacher was Chinese (and I'm Chinese as well, xD), and that's what she taught me, and it wasn't until I moved that that was corrected.

But they are wonderful, and their control is unbelievable.

  • Wow, these girls are great. What grade ??

  • I should know this cuz I'm a dancer, but could someone please tell me: what is a "promenade"?

  • in terns of ballet, it is when you are in arabesque (usually but you can be in any position where the weight is on 1 leg) and you pivot around in a circle by moving your supporting heel.

  • thanks so much.

  • hahahhaah;

love that they call this "ronds de jambe a terre"

    they're so amazing!♥

  • That's what it technically is. 0_o Ronde de jambe a terre. You could call it a ronde de jambe, but you certainly wouldn't call it en l'air. I suppose they were just being specific.

  • the girl in right won the Prix de laussane 2000.

  • I've decided. They breed them like this.

  • i don"t understand what you said

  • I was kidding because, if you notice, they all have the "ballet body" with the long legs, long arms, and small frame. That's really rare for people to be so "perfect" (not saying they are) in they're art.

  • ok,got you

  • woow, a mi me duele :p

    jajajja :)

ojala a mi me saliera asii :(

  • no the are broken 1e then the grow as they want (my mom danses there)

  • Do they have a backbone?

  • technique is so good

    amazing control

  • I agree! Beautiful!

  • It's like perfect and they make it look so easy.

It makes me lose all confidence in my skills in ballet ):

I wish I was as good as them x_x

    AND THEY'RE SO SKINNY TOO.

  • oh my god how i wish i could get my freaking leg as high as that...*sigh* their techniques are like perfection!!

  • sounds like the teacher is saying "faili" to every movement they make :)

  • I think that she is saying "ta yi" which probably means "and one" in Chinese. You know, like she's counting the beats. "one, two, and one, two..."

  • well...i heard the ronde de jambe on friends, and i was like wtf o.O to i searched it and this came up....fair do's it's great they can do that, cos i couldn't...but i still find it boring...sorry to be truthful.

  • their technique is... perfect!!!

  • O.o

  • goodness theyre backbends on releve are awesome!!

  • nice!

  • they are 16 here

    well zhong jing is

  • and they say ballet is stupid, i find it so interesting !!!!! i really really wish i was that flexible :( !

  • This is Vaganova training at work. Lovely, isn't it?

  • china tenia qe serr...

  • WOW, that was amazing! I can't believe that back bend they did, so easily too!

  • they make it look so easy.

    wooow good job!

  • purr-fect, I am only a begginer and it hurt my leg!

  • You are always pointign, I always forget to.

  • Don't over stretch yourself! Keep stretching until you feel a little pull, then go back a little to where it doesn't hurt, and you'll be where you want in no time!

  • this is wy i dont think Asian people are homo sapiens.. maby they are not from this planet :O

but some thing whith allot of asian dancers .... they are so dead.. ;( still great technique

  • you make me wanna shoot myself, you're damn perfect.

  • They are so turned out! Beautiful!

  • It's ridiculous, no? I've done ballet since i was THREE and I can hardly get to 110 degrees to the front! I'm training for splits though, but these girls must be eleven and they are amazing already! Unfair!

  • I think these girls are probably older than eleven. I would guess around 14-16 years old. They are so beautiful though.

  • i think i can guess which one became the soloist and which one just joined the ABT company by the way the move. the one on the left, who i think is the soloist, has more grace and "flare" to here movements. the one on the right--not so much. the one on the also has less control of her body. the one on the left sometime doesn't control her body too, but it is usually at appropriate times where it looks good. i.e. sticking her ribs out after the combre.

  • omg, they have so much strength in their legs its amazing! im just like, OMG THEY DNT LOOK REAL! wow theyr awesome!

  • WOW, I would kill to dance with that control and strength, what studio is this?

  • Shanghai Dance Academy

  • you have such beautiful dancers. wow. the one on the right looks almost like me, but soooo much better. wow. good job girls!!!!

  • Wow girls!!

  • There Legs Must Be Killing They Hardly Touch The Floor :|

It Hurts me & We Don't Hold It That Long :|

    Wow 'mazing!

  • absolutely AMAZING.

  • their back strength is incredible

  • OMG! Just beautiful!

  • its amazing how they dance ballet. look at their bodies. its long, slender, and god they kinda look backwards.

  • very beautiful

  • Wow! They are soooo GOOD! The ballet they do is quite simple and yet they make it look so advanced with such incredible turnout, strength and excellent flexibility. Also they are so beautifully slim! I'm auditioning for the Royal Ballet School this year but with competition like them! Help! Overall good enjoyable video. Lovely!

  • this is some hardcore ballet

thet probably do dance 20 hrs a week i only dance 12

  • That was very nicely done :)

    Beautiful.

    x

  • 他们是好的

  • the secret to all these Chinese ballerinas being long-legged, great arches, and just overall amazing proportions is that in China, to even be considered for ballet training, you've gotta have the right body, they're very critical in their selections of dancers to train...even money can't buy you spots into academies like these...and they really work these girls hard, the families are really involved, typically it's a FT job for the mom to escort and attend the trainings with them.

  • i'm a chinese and my arch is low low low low low and hydro extension

  • OMG!

    their attitudes!

    or how is it spelled?

    well, whatever they're great!

i wish i could be like them u__u!

  • Amazing!!!!!!!!!!! I bet they dance over 20 hours a week. I'm not even being sarcastic!

  • awesome long legs and beautiful arch. great job!

  • Ha, I laughed at some of the remarks below. This is international quality.....superb Russian training...quite commendable. It wouldn't surprise me that these girls are also first place winners in international competitions. I thought their plastique was exquisite......I just shake my head reading the critiques. You should be as well trained.

  • superb "Russian" training? No, dear, Shanghai is in CHINA. And this is nost definitely Chinese technical achievements.

A Russian training would typically not lead to such slender bodies and thigh structure.

  • And dear, ballet originated in France...how would it ever get to China? It's called globalization, and it's possible that their (Chinese) teacher was trained in Russia. The Shanghai Ballet, for example, is primarily a Russian-trained company. I wouldn't be surprised if most teachers at the ballet schools were trained in the former Soviet Republic and brought back similar methods combined with Chinese (Communist?) nationalistic push for excellence.

  • And while all that is well and true, looking at these dancers in particular show no Russian training...

In fact, their technique is distinctively NOT Russian. They look distinctively Chinese-trained from a Chinese-based ballet education system, not one that is Russian or French based, globalization be damned.

  • they're actually really good already you know.

  • Didn't say they weren't good. But they're not really engaging their psoas, which leads them to open their ribcage. Their backs look sloped and their lower backs are at risk for injury.

They do, however, have a very nice movement quality, I will agree.

  • but u must remeber that thius is in 2000 we are talking bout 8 yrs ago imagine hw good they are now. maybe they don;t do it anymore.

  • wow!

y couldnt i just be born with that ability?!?!?

    how old r they?

  • what do they it?...lettuce?

  • Beautiful, some might want to losen thier arms a little.

  • there good, but my mussels hurt if i look at it poor girls!

  • it's beautiful .

  • I think that they are flexible AND beautiful.

  • Absolutely beautiful, but a little depressing. :-P I would give anything to have that kind of ability. :-)

  • I'm a student of the Tulsa Ballet and this class reminds me of them. Very nice.

  • dang! i need to practice more!! all thier videos are soo inspiring :]

  • o my god they look like swans theyre so amazing

  • Oh my...

I feel terrible watching this!!! They are perfect...wow. And they are so young...I wont ever be capable of that. Then again, I dont take ballet...But in any way shape or form, they are far better dancers than I am.

  • is it just me or do they kind of stick out their ribs?

and what's this music from? (1st song)

  • When you do ballet your suppose to suck in your stomach, and they are already skinny so that's probalbly why you see ribs.

  • Trop de riguer beurk c'est pas de la gymnastique non plus ! Moi j'ai bien envie de leur donner a manger !!!

  • Wow. My ballet teacher would cry with joy if we did our develope that high.

  • It's not that high, beswides ballet isn't just about extension

  • The side ones are very high! And ballet isn't just about extension, agreed, but with a good turnout and high extensions (as demonstrated here) you can perform almost any step.

  • My gosh, I feel such an amateur watching this.

  • i know what you mean lol

  • As do I

  • They are so freaking good!! What grade are they? And I can't believe they're only 14!!! They're so flexible!

  • They are so similar to the russian thin/skinny girls in vaganova!

  • We do something similar. But our necks aren't that long

  • dang i wish i could do that

  • Their posture bothers me...

  • :) its really good. but there posture before and after an exercise.... their heads go back because they seem to look up too far, and their back go like bananas!

  • they are AMAZING the only thing I would say is to connect their "ribs to their spines" as the saying goes, however I think they are doing maybe a different variation on the "traditional classical" ballet. BUT STILL, I can only dream, I could be so perfect!!!!!!!!!!

  • What on earth would make you think they are not enjoying it?

  • just because they're probably concintrating on the combination doesn't mean it's not fun...

  • if they didn't enjoy doing it then why would they spend like 50 hours a week practicing it?!

  • I don't like a few of the things they do, but pretty good.

  • WOW :|

  • they weren't on 'en pointe' they had slippers

  • 1:08 "roti prata"?

  • it's "port de bra.... taaahhh..." i think that's what she said.

  • I agree with Soubrette. The leg should not be in front of the arm to the side, because the arm is always slightly curved. If the leg is in front either the leg is not really to the side or the arm is not in the correct place. Also, in the port de bras forward, it is not academic to put the nose to the legs; although it is a good stretch; this can weaken the back if one is not careful. Otherwise, it is a good combination.

  • there fifth position is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!

and they have long legges,i don't!

  • OH MY GOD.... they have such long legs, perfect extention, flat turn out, high arches, exact timing and a great rond de jambe!

  • i feel extremely unflexible and uncoordinate when i watch this.

    BUT THEY'RE AMAZING!

  • they make it look so damn effortless!

  • wow! You're so good! I love dancing and I love doing ballet, but i'm not good as you. And I'll never gonna be better than you! Amazing!

  • These girls are absolutely amazing. Everything about them is perfect.

  • I have a question, The 'rond de jambe jete en dedans'(from back to front)is always throw behind of arm or in front of arm?

please watch 1:05, there are some different of 2 girls.. Please let me know which one is correct.. Thanks a lot!!

  • Zhong-Jing(on the right) does it correctly, the leg is behind the arm. Yao(on the left)is trying to accommodate her high extension to the front and moves her arm behind the leg as she throws it. She also lifts her hip twisting the knee inwards and rotating the heel under as the leg moves en dedans from 2nd to devant. Her positions are not as clean as they should be.

  • Yao is perhaps a bit sway-backed? For being so good, still there is another "better". Amazing.

It took a second viewing to realize that the second half is all 'en pointe'! Yeah, there's a barre, but, goodgrief....how can such effort be so graceful and delicate?

Well, that is what ballet is about.

  • It is supposed to be done in low attutude befor throwing it.

  • and they leave ther heads back after port de bras.

  • Dat scool is GOOD!.......nearly as good as Corrib Dance Academy! I wudnt mind goin der tho!!!!!

  • what grade are they in ?

    THEY ARE AWSOME

  • B4T d6n't d6 5t s6 *erfect3y ,,,

  • That's what have t6 d6 every wee2,,,

  • this is sooo beautiful, but they look the same en look like robots but its amazing of what they're capable of, im jealous!
