  • that was the pure HC spirit, hatebreed drag HC to mainstream,,,,HC life till i fucking die!

  • that was fucking cool.!

  • bring it back mike. the time is now.

  • this would have been a great doc since the 20 mins we see here is soo good. you gotta finish it some how. include other long lost bands in it too like youth of today, 7 seconds, bold, slapshot, who ever is down and still around to be videotaped. i miss old time hardcore!! this new school shit is depressing to me. they all look like afghan hounds and don't carry the torch as well as they should. i don't know... maybe i'm just old. reagan youth, mdc, cromags, guerrilla biscuts where did it all go?

  • One of my first NY-HC bands, and one of the GREATEST,Thanks from Germany!!!

  • i love how mike judge looks like he doesnt listen to hardcore

  • @josephpattisal

theres definitely more in there and it will definitely be a bigger project but they are such a huge part of where hardcore is today.

  • @josephpattisall

i would go into detail with more things. start with the climate of the scene at the time they started why they started. they mention youth of today and revelation recs and most fans would definitely know whats going on but who is youth of today? what is revelation? what is youth crew? describe it. get more interviews. interview the band interview some of the other people who knew judge personally, and also other names in music not just hc who were influenced by them.

  • I would love to try and make a new judge documentary. Full length.

  • @andynfb what would you do different? I don't think there's a feature length story in it.

  • @xsshimlerx you should check out some of the awesome youth crew stuff happening over seas. Bands like the geeks are killing it, and still have that youth of today/ chain of strength vibe. In America, we have mindset, go!, get the most, the first step, and champion. It's still alive, not everyone has sold out :)

  • i had the luck to see them in syracuse long time ago, ,so yeah they dont make bands like this no more, now its just a bunch of cookie cutter sound ,having some asshole telling you what mascara to wear, or how too look,,or how to sound ,, this guys did it cause there heart were in it ,but ,now everyone sales their souls, their friends, wat ever it takes to ride in a fancy tour bus, and make all the coin you can get, ,,, but what do i ffKKiinng know iam only 34 years old ,, BTW thank u on the vid

  • whhoooa....i was really waiting for something like that for so long.

thus its sad it has not been released on dvd.

JUDGE was and still is one of the best bands ever!!!!!!!

Judge is my soundtrack of life.....and it always makes me positively strong!!!

  • pucha que alguna alma caritativa pueda ponerle sub a este magnifico documental.....

  • what is mike up to nowadays? i heard he sang in a blues band. unfortunately, i dont think there will ever be a judge reunion.. and like minor threat, it sucks that we cant see them but you gotta respect the guys for not going out and doing something their heart isnt really in just for a payday.

  • As soon as "Bringin' it Down" starts I can only think of the Gayrilla Biscuits lyrics... how my mind has been warped.

  • @uberscheisse Gayrilla biscuits??

  • @JERZEY555 yes, gayrilla biscuits. google the song "bringin it down my throat".

  • @uberscheisse i checked there myspace its all pink there gay the lyrics r real homo r they a serious band?

  • @JERZEY555 with lyrics like "see you on the street, grab you by your sack - you thrust, and thrust, then JACK OFF ON MY BACK!" i'd say that yes, dude. they are most seriously a serious band.

  • Jimmy Yu is a professor at FSU these days. I had him my very last semester in College...he taught a Zen Buddhism class I was taking. I didn't find out that he was part of the hardcore scene until the last few weeks of the class. He now teaches meditation classes regularly every week to students. He is an amazing guy, and the most interesting professor I've ever had at FSU.

  • @zcerveza FSU has a university now? i thought they were just a shitty hardcore gang... branching out, i guess. wow.

  • BACK UP YOUR HARD DRIVE!!! Good stuff tho thanks for posting.

  • im with @pitboss306 i would buy this sooo quick judge was a great straight hardcore band idc what anyone says

  • reunion. young people like me needs judge

  • Dude, release this on DVD with some live clips and shit... I'd buy it in a second.

  • Gods.

  • great video, brings back memories.

    thanks!

  • JUDGE was the shit. Killer vid.

  • judge so backedd, kinda sad ending though

  • Still the best HC band. Hope this documentary will come out someday.

  • The lesson I took away from this was how the line between self expression of the artist and literal interpretations, err rather misinterpretations of the listeners can get a bit outta control.

  • Awesome!

  • Great featurette. Even if this is "unfinished", it is very cool. One of my all-time favorite bands, and this vid brought back a lot of cool memories. Nice job.

  • where it went!

  • After they say "MIKE THE MONKEYS UNCLE"

  • Take me away by Judge

  • What song is playing while the band members are being introduced in the very beginning?

  • anyway of getting these photos used in the video?

  • not easily. what would you need them for?

  • @JosephPattisall

The same reason we all need them. Pictures of mike judge slapped on the mud flaps of our pickup trucks.

  • @xdiddykongx

    Printscreen? :p

  • Hardcore! thats all that matters!

  • JUDGE!.. The best hardcore sxe band ever!.. but so sad they all ready break up...

  • purely awesome

  • whoops!

there it is! sorry, I was too hasty to speak because my eyes were literally glued to the screen, concentrated on all the action.

congratulations on what looks like one of the best documentaries to come out of hardcore, thanks for the preview! I can't wait for the finished version to come out!!

  • amazing!

i think i can safely say this is something the hardcore community worldwide has been expecting forever!

a quick note though, the background audio should really be regulated during the interviews, the volume never changes and it gets hard at times to hear the words of the interviewees, which should never be an issue.

  • thanks for the nice words. in the description you may have missed it but I wrote about the audio being unmixed and this being unfinished.

  • @xsalvadorx yeh, i def. agree with the interviews and the volume of music. i guess that has something to do with the unfinished part aswell.

  • so dope.

  • That was incredible. You have outdone yourself on this one!

  • Thanx for posting man!!!

  • this is amazing. probably the best thing on youtube.

  • that was awesome

i love judge so fucking much

  • Thanks so much!

  • Amazing !!!

  • Awesome job. Nice to see someone documenting a band that had an enormous influence on the hardcore scene. Great editing work, it flows really well.

  • This, alone, is already so amazing.

    Thanks so much for sharing!

  • THANX

  • awesome

  • Damn thats the coolest shit ever!

  • i cant wait to see the final product, but i didnt seem like a rough cut at all good job

  • This is the coolest hardcore related thing I've seen in ages. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

  • Is that footage in the beginning taken at Fender's in LA, like late july of early august 1989? I remember that show!

  • crucial stuff!

  • best thing on youtube!

  • Thanks for sharing. I hope this gets completed!

I'm pretty sure the outdoor footage of that skin getting beat up was taken in Orange County. I remember watching a video of that at Dave Mandel's house like 12 years ago.

  • First lesson in the big book of editing: always have triple back ups. But this shit is great, and so is Judge
