@romansrevenge272 Something must've gone wrong with the companion mod installation. You can test if it installed correctly or not from when you first leave your apartment in the beginning of the game. If you have an option to make the bum a companion, it installed correctly.

One question though... did you start a new game or continue from an old save? The mod only will work with new game files.

I don't know much about Ventrue, but after seeing that their 3 disciplines were Dominate, fortitude, and presence I thought, "Ventrue are useless!"

Atleast Malkavians have dementation and Tremere have thurmatergy.

Domination is more powerful than you think. You can possess people, cause suicide, and mass suicide. So don't discount Ventrue right away. Plus all their powers are discreet - no masquerade violation possible

@kagomeyuy Dominate is horrible against supernatural creatures, that means other vampires. However, the combination of Fortitude and Presence makes for a great fighter build. Going the Domination route will make the game a lot harder and a bit more Mage-like.

A VTMB tier list would go something like this (when compared directly to the other clans): Brujah, Toreador, Tremere, Ventrue, Gangrel, Nosferatu, Malkavian.

I'm sure someone will get pissed off that their clan is at the end. Sorrryyy.

I never really liked Ventrue myself. Dominate is cool, but they are rather loosy fighters compared to Gangrel or Brujah. I mainly play Brujah since I don't like Protean, but not with autolevel turned on. If you focus on only 2 Disciplines, you can make a character with good dialouge options, great fighting skill and good ranged weapons... Dominate can't make up for Potence and Clerity.

It really depends on how you want to play the game, since each patch adds something else to the game. The companion mod I use is built on top of Wesp's 5.6 patch, but there are later patches out that people use as well. I've used a later patch before too.

hm, havent played Ventrue.. I usually play Malkavian, love the insanity. Even did the "answer bunch of questions" thing and still ended up as malk :p now playing through as Nosferatu. You aware of the tv-series about Vampire the Masquerade, pretty interesting. only ran for 1 season tho. ironically if I remember the main acter died. seek out Kindred: The Embraced if you got interested :)

Sorry, but that show was complete CRAP. They totally screwed up the whole story, Gangrel and Brujah were sworn enemies, Nosferatu acted really stuck up and everybody acted like Ventrues and Malkavians didn't even exist >:/

also i hate the tutorial....tire iron, lockpick, and 2 xp...no, takes too much time...you get a bat on the first quest, 100 bucks in drawer to buy a lockpick, and 1 2xp really doesnt affect anything

I hate not having that advantage the tutorial gives you though. I found it really annoying the time I tried to skip the tutorial. And for some reason I just prefer the tire iron. I rarely use the bat. I know you can get the tire iron later, but I still like having it from the get go.

You have to use the sewers if you're Nosferatu, and tons and tons of obfuscate. There is a playthrough somewhere using Nosferatu, and I think it's on youtube.

The masquerade violation with the nosferatu is very overated. I walked in the middle of the road with a nossie without violating the masquerade. As long as you don't bump in to anyone it isn't a problem.

Were you using the clan histories mod as well? I have all the patches (official and unofficial) and the only way I could get clan histories was from a mod.

I don't have any extra mods installed. But I feel like every time I've played the game I've had the history ability.

This companion mod is built on Wesp's 5.6 unofficial patch, and I suppose it's possible that the creator of the mod allowed history too. But I know for certain that I have played the game before using this mod and have had the history enabled. And this is the first mod I've ever used.

I'm using a companion mod, and so that had a patch built in. I believe it uses Wesps's 5.6 unofficial patch.

But before I had the compmod, I was able to get the history by using the latest patch there was that was out at the time, either 5.8 or 5.9.

Good luck getting through this all. The Dominate abilities seem almost exactly like the Dementation abilities. Never played Ventrue so I never realized their ability was so close. Although as a Ventrue, I can't imagine the Anarchs will like you very much.

Only thing I'd suggest is possibly running your commentary audio through a "Noise Removal" filter to take out all that white noise you have. Audacity can do this fairly easily.

Ventrue is my favorite clan. Life isn't quite as easy as being a Malkavian, but it's still pretty awesome. I only wish I had obfuscate... but I will actually... later... with the CompMod...
