@SamuelConcepcion You're Joking, right? Computers were invented around WWII, this is the third of a set of series, this last from 1940. Believe it or not, there was an era fifty years before, around 1900, when most people lived without electricity at all. You're completely unaware of even basic history, it seems.
i used to know of a major league pitcher who's name was tom "flash" gordon. he was pretty good. i'm a little disappointed with how flash survived that fall. lol, stretching the limits of believability there flash.
the good guys and the bad guys have strikingly similar space ships.
after watching this i realized that 90% of the ideas in Star Wars where stolen from the old Flash Gorden Movies and the the remaining 10% where stolen from Star Trek and a few Japanese movies.
Flash Gordon's theme music isn't Wagner---it's "Les Preludes" by Franz Liszt. They also re-used music from other Universal Studios productions--"The Invisible Man," "Bride of Frankenstein," etc.
lol, the conclusion to the last cliffhanger's ridiculous. :P
This transfer's waaaaaay better than what's on the DVD boxset I brought recently, where all I could hear was muffling audio. Now I feel bummed about buying it when this was a better alternative (well at least I got it off ebay).
Fantastic! I'm 28 and I remember every chapter - it was repeated in it's entirety on BBC 2 i think in 92. I still giggle when Flash and The Giant (obviously dummies with screams dubbed over the top!) fall down the fiery pit.
Trying to find this opening music to Flash Gordon Conquers The Universe. A source says it comes from Richard Wagners "Die Meistersinger von Nurnberg", but after reviewing it on the tube it is not there, someone pls help
The music in this serial was memorable I am 55yrs old and remember every chapter, it used to come on sunday mornings, any gurus out there know where I can get the music?

Why did they not use computer graphics animation? It would have looked much more believable!

@Supenmanu That's not some big secret; you could ask Lucas about it. I would prefer to call it homage though, more like a modern update.

I can't believe this is so exciting to watch, I think probably due to the fast pace. Thanks for uploading.

@talltanbarbie
the German "Wochenschau" (cinema news) used this very theme for their bulletins of the Russian campaign 1941-45

The music is from "Die Meistersinger von Nurnberg" of Richard Wagner.

We got that straightened out. It was from Les Preludes by Franz Liszt buried in the music.
