  • fuck you fong!

  • Without those screen reflectors it would have cause too much shadow at the background! Stop fooling us Fong!

  • He's trying to get his product well known... This sounds as stupid as an infomercial on another gimmicky ab contraption.

The woman was like ohhhhhhhhhhh, ahhhhh, uuuuuuhuh, oh yea..... crappy acting.

  • If any of you came here because you want to evaluate the Lightsphere, don't be fooled by the claim that the photo with his product looks "just like" the one taken by the expensive light system. THE TRUTH IS: THE expensive screens ALL OVER THE ROOM SUPPORTED HIS FLASH AND REFLECTED ITS LIGHT UNIFORMLY ALL AROUND THE MODEL. They would have done that with any flash diffuser. LOOK AT THE CEILING! A $2000 screen is mounted on it! Look left and right! Reflector screens left and right! Be smart!

  • @SeerTrulth Yeah, except it also works great and produces beautiful lighting in images taken in a dark living room with ceilings no higher than 8ft. I've used the lightsphere in venues all over the place with different lighting, ceiling height, etc. and it always produces a great result. They can also be used on speed flashes instead of expensive strobes to light a studio in the traditional manner.

  • is she a moron or just pretending?

  • you talked about it, but didn't show us any results.

  • Look interested woman!

  • Great !!! I have both lightspheres and they work perfekt !!! No shadows any more in the backround ! Great light, sharper pics !!

  • RIDICULO...

    PIECE OF CRAP....

It´s ridiculous comparing that to studio light...

  • What a riculously overrated piece of plastic, but for amateurs it's great as they don't know any better. Here in this example he's bouncing off the white ceiling, Let's see him do that with no ceiling- NOT! I had two of them, used them once and couldn't sell them fast enough afterwards.

  • @silverlight68 what do u think is better on ur flash? I want to get a bounce card but not should what is best? any tips?

  • I had a cloud I left behind during my last trip. Great for portraits with the dome, remove the dome to bounce the light and cancel shadows in the background at longer distance. Now I like my collapsible tupperware =)

  • I own the clear lightsphere version and it does work. You people envy not having the lightsphere. Your so vain!

  • @prmass1 no we have the WHITE FUCKING PLASTIC CUP :)).

  • clickherephotography : exactly

With the white walls and the low ceiling even a plain flash bounced upwards would create good results.

  • @MyWuffi

agreed, and agreed with your re: to clickhere.

im interested to find out what you do when with a low celiing that isnt white! : (

  • I just love it how the Bimbo nods yes and pretends she understands everything Gary is saying.

But your good looking, so it really doesn't matter anyway. LOL

  • I love how you spelled bimbo with a capital B... XD

  • Comment removed

  • Perhaps this model was told to act exactly like this because this was a job she was hired for and maybe she is smarter than you think;) ...and perhaps she was never told that thousands of people would see this footage;) Cheers!

  • Like I said, the Bimbo is good looking so that's all that really matters in the real world. Besides, there's something very attractive about dumb Bimbos. As dumb as they are, they seem to always find rich guys, so I guess they're pretty smart in the end.

  • @jbravo70 Bimbo was Betty Boop's best friend.

  • You could have also included a photograph taken with the camera flash being bounced off the ceiling without any diffusion?

Also a photograph with the Lightsphere pointed directly at the model and then compare this result to the direct flash - just for interest sake...

I would have liked to compare all results to the Lightsphere.

Not a bad video, reasonable skin tones in the Studio and Lightsphere photos although it would have been nice to provide a few more photos to compare results.

  • The lightsphere is good only within 5 feet of the subject. Any further distance the speed flash will have to be used as the light needs to travel further anyways. But it is great when the subject is very close to the background by eliminating the shadows. I think this is the strength it has. I just finished reading a book on photography and it showed the differences in flashers available and the lightsphere out perform others. Just remember to shoot at a close distance with it.

  • whats the track at the beginning?

  • Tons of proffesional photographers use this product for weddings. I have one myself. they can't all be wrong. Check every major photography website online and check their reviews they mention this product as being great. Also check the reviews on Amazon by customers that brought it. It has a 5 star review, can they all be wrong. i doubt it.

Alot also depends on the flash your using too.

I use mine with a Nikon SB-600, works great.

Don't knock something until you've tried it.

  • what settings do you normally use with your camera and the sb600 to get the best out of the sphere? I just got the sphere but not really happy with the results. thanks

  • I did find that some of my shots came out a little dark, but i was using ISO 100. Once i changed it to ISO 400, they where very well exposed. I haven't done any extensive shooting with this, just a few shots at work, but i did a comparison with, no flash, my built in flash, my SB-600 by itself, then the Lightsphere. I have to say the lightsphere once i had changed the ISO came out better than all. The sb600 alone was good, but was a little to harsh. Overall for the price, i like it.

  • Yeah, the photographer is still responsible for getting the proper exposure. The LS just gives you softer light than a bare flash.

  • i'm going to try this next time i'm shooting a party at the playboy mansion

  • I wonder if his white had is helping reflect the lightsphere

  • Did he say ... gnarly!

  • I liek how he has the 'narly' studio lighting set to give a very flat light, both stobes firing at the same power to make the lightsphere looks better.

  • does anybody know what type of lense he has on

  • AWESOME! That's I was looking for! Thanks!

  • Lightsphere proves that photographers will by anything just to say they have it.

  • I have one of these things and they work very well. They are much better than the omnibounce because with the omni you have to have a 45 degree angle to get rid of the shadows in the eyes which isn't always possible. The lightsphere works in a lot of situations. I have shot 4 weddings with this and then I sold my omnibounce because the lightsphere was so much better. It's def. worth the price. Don't listen to the idiots who don't have any experience with this, it's their ignorance and loss.

  • That model is freaking PAINFUL to listen to.

Oh, yah, oh, yah, uh-huh, sure, Oooooooh

  • Yeah, I don't know why he was trying to sell her on the blasted thing. Was it supposed to be the "behind the scenes" cut? Sheesh, she sounded like she was trying to act interested when she was probably just there to model.

  • Whats your problem? Shes a model not the host of this! It looks like Gary just wanted to talk to her...what is she supposed to say?? I think she did an awesome job and at least he got a hot blond!

  • just plastic crap 4 idiots!

  • i have one of these and it really does work well. even outside.

looks like a margarine container though.. people laugh at me.

  • I use a plastic white sphere out of a mathmos mood light for architectural model photography and it is perfect for the job, this being similar in concept but purpose built should be awesome!

  • Thus proving that he knows a girl!

  • No, I first saw this at a club in San Jose Ca. A guy was shooting photos with it and at the time I was like, how the heck is he using his flash to take any quality photo's in the club... (I'm new to photography) and he was trying to explain where he got that dome thingy from and in one ear out the other for me. But it helped him take pretty decent photos....

  • Great if you're shooting indoors with white walls and ceiling nearby. Practially useless in extremely large rooms with vaulted ceilings (like many churches and wedding halls), and outdoors.

  • I tried one mounted on a Nikon SB-800 on my D-90 in a large hall and was quite happy with the result...MUCH more defused more pleasing light than direct, and higher direct light when bouncing. It appears to do just what it is supposed to do but I ended up making a folded card defuser that works well and is free. If I could get one where I live I would buy the Lightsphere, even though it looks cheesy. I would use in clubs and for fashion shoots, but in no way does it beat full size softboxes

  • I have got one about one month ago, and have to say the LightSphere is working in the same way as those ones shown in the movie...

  • Next this guy will be telling us such Outrageous claims of his products such as it will grow hair on your head..... LoL.. People dont believe this snake oil scam... its no different than bouncing off a bounce card or using a Omnibounce... For far less money...

  • Your talking shite i use mine most days

  • Put your money were you mouth is.. Sorry but nothing but false claims by some idiot that wears a rug on his head...

  • Anyway, why is he talking to the model, like she cares, lol.

  • Morons. This thing ROCKS...

  • Dude tell someone who cares i think you board that model like no tomorrow with all that talk

  • The Tuperware Sphere

  • idiot and crap lighting

  • I love when he said: "never EVER grab camera by flash"

  • what kinda flash is that ???? that has a swivel head ?

  • that's a canon 580ex speedlight with gary fong lightsphere attached on Canon eos 5d with 85 mm f/1.2 L lens
