@Ordinary862 not exactly, they are very similar even in the strings for each but as far as I know they are different when it comes to playing. The size and the strings are nearly the same though.

@ordinary862 What number guy said but: What is the same is left hand positions. The frets on a mando and the positions on a violin are the same. Note for note you can play fiddle/violin music with a mandolin. What is REALLY different is right hand technique. I imagine however that is easier to go from bowing to picking than the other way around.

le tout tourne sur du Em et du D mais tu peux attaquer le deuxieme theme sur un C (ce que je conseille) et de maniere generale les morceaux en sol majeur tourne autour de G D Em et C. Il y a plein d accords possible en fait selon le niveau du musicien (je bosse autour des arrangements en ce moment c est dailleurs pour ca que je ne poste rien depuis
