it's kind of a japanese trend between teens and young adults. they usually decorate their phones with 3d stickers and such (most of the time diamond jewels), but yeah, a lot of teens have phones that big cause it's considered 'cute' and such.

No as Verizon doesn't do sim cards. You need a sim card for it to work in the US. Like AT&T and T-mobile use sim cards.

There's no place to put a strap, but I had a tip from a website, when you open the back cover, there are some little parts on it, you can put the string of the strap in it and when the cover's closed, the strap is trapped in it and it hangs. You should try.

That's right. Sending multimedia messages and the Yahoo-function don't work outside Japan. I can't play the games in the phone here in Europe but it worked when I was in Hongkong. So I guess that some features work only in Asia and not somewhere else.
