  • Jesus was a brown skinned, curly haired jew- why is he always painted looking like a german hippie?

  • Wow how powerful.

  • I only wish artist would get off this incorrect view that Jesus was a long haired beautiful man. The beauty of Jesus was within. 1 Cor 11:16 "Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him" In such, does not every painting of the long hair Jesus make it a disgrace to the Lord Jesus?

  • I didn't know Jesus did pilates. No wonder he had such great abs.

  • awesome

  • Amen! Praise to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. I love how this painting of Jesus, the angels behind the roman guard and satan in the dark figure. This really speaks to all of us that Jesus had the power to stop from what's happening,

but He willingly let Himself be crucified to set us free from sin, and what would become of us if He had stopped everything from happening. But thank the Lord that He showed us love and brought salvation, Glory to God in the highest.

  • Thankyou! Did you know that the ark of the covenant has been found and it has Jesus blood on it? Hit my link to hear about the blood, this is real no joking!

  • Thank You

  • GAY JESUS

  • the same figure of Jesus I saw in the movie " Jesus of Nazareth", during the trial of Pilatus, exact figure, thin, silent, do you see that movie?, well, in this painting the roman soldiers wear a lorica segmentata, a balteus, a pair of caligaes, a braccae, all elements of reis militaris ( standard equipment ) but, what about that helmets? I never saw that kind of helmet before, is not Montefortino, is not Coolus, is not Imperial, the helmets that you paint not exist, the rest is ok

  • Beautiful work

  • your a good painter

  • Amazing and touching...

  • I love all your paintings. They have such remarkable stories in each one. I. Love "awaiting the arrival," "the face of christ" and ye are not forgotten." I look forward to your new painting "the arrival." The name alone is very intriguing. -dallyn mortensen jones (fb)

  • I love this! It's so powerful and beautiful

It moves me everytime I listen to it

And it always makes me ask the question were would I be if Christ had decided not to go through with it? Then it makes me very very thankful that he did, and so thankful for his love

I love you Jesus Christ my lord and Savior

  • "He has so much power, but chose not to use it because of His great love for all of us." Those words along with this video move me to tears. Thank you Jon for this amazing lesson. I like all your paintings, love your symbolism, but this video is my favorite, because it underlines the combination of our Lord's power and love....truly amazing.

  • When an act is in direct violation of God's law, it can be considered worse than pornography. Pornography is a thing and cannot sin. Only men can sin with how they use it. But making an image of God is in direct violation of the Second Commandment. This video and the painting rendered herein is in direct violation of the 2nd Commandment of God. That makes this video and the painting shown in it worse than porno! Shame on you, Jon!

  • Thank you Jon. You have reminded me of how much I love the Saviour.

  • Girls are lying when they say size doesn't matter

  • The name itself, extremely rare in Arabia by the way, carries associations with the account of Ishmael’s death and burial and the place lies adjacent to the largest known ancient burial site in all of Arabia. The location perfectly fits the account. Furthermore, the only fertile coastline in Arabia lies almost directly eastward of Nahom, just as Nephi noted (1 Nephi 17:1). None of this information was known in 1830.

  • I cannot wait to receive this and 4 other painted I ordered.

  • Another awesome painting Jon... Great Job...

  • The Morgan Hill California Stake took advantage of four local festivals within its stake boundaries, to promote the Church’s website familysearch*org, and family history.

Members of the stake’s public affairs council and family history consultants worked together on four successful booths.

  • but he didn't really die, so he sacrificed nothing and left us just as we were.

well done sir.... Plus when he comes back he going to kill everyone who does not believe, so awesome and loving. Sorry Jains you're all fucked.....

  • Well I was inspired until I found out the artist is a mormon. I haven't read in the bible about any female angels.

  • Very inspiring, but he did not have long hair, he was a Jew with an olive complexion and dark eyes. I wish we would put him in the Jewish context and not in the American, handsome blue-eyed, long hair greek man that we have made him out to be. He's the story of Joseph, dressed as an Egyptian where his brothers did not recognize him. Perhaps if we put him in the correct setting, his brothers would recognize their messiah. (Isaiah 53:2) If his hair is long, he took a Nazarite vow on the tree.

  • @juniemoon ~~ and his name is Yahshua, not jesus. To-this-day proper names do not translate from one launguage to another. Titles do translate- depending on their importance. The more important the title the less likely that it translates. What greater name and title is there than Yahshua ha Meschiach?

  • Bravo

  • This artist is a Mormon which explains his style of painting; visions of large angels, etc

  • What a wonderful display of what I call LOVE!! thank you for reminding me of his love for me.. WONDERFUL! I wish I could save your pictures to my site so that others would see such majestic beauty!

  • @202rickh I've seen a variety of ethnic interpretations. This artist said he wasn't trying to portray an historically correct Jesus; he was simply trying to show a loving, thoughtful Jesus.

  • God bless you Jon McNaughton for the work that you are doing in the service of our Lord. All of your paintings are powerful tools helping to save the lost. Thank you Jesus for inspiring yet, one more person to show us how much you love us. You never tire of reaching out to a lost world, no matter how ugly they are to you. I , as a Christian, can't wait for your return.

  • The point of view is very interesting. WE are in Pilot's seat, and WE have the choice to let him suffer or not.

  • @MrStevenspiel An excellent observation.

  • Truly beautiful and amazing!! Where is this picture now and is there any way us ordinary folk can get a print?

  • This message reeks of the unvarnished truth. Anyone who has held a child in their arms cannot denie the existance Of God the Father and what Christs sacrifice hear on Earth means to all believers in Him. This was humbling and touching. Thank you so much

  • If our Savior decided to put a stop to His Atonement, our lifes on earth would have been meanignless...we would not have been able to return to Him and our Heavenly Father.

  • This is so beautiful and interesting. Thank you Seth for bringing us the video.

  • Or, he had no power, and just boasted to Pilate as though he did.

  • Another HOME RUN!

  • Here stands the King of Kings!

  • @omiolo2 This Man Knows Nothing of Jesus, just the nice bedtime story Jesus who self serving idiots paint out of context. Jesus would be proud of Jon McNaughton passing judgement on his fellow Americans, the Jesus Jon knows. Jon is not ready to give it all away as Jesus implied. Jon is not worshiping any god except a self serving that worships money. No money changes hands in my fathers house, remember Jon! It is very hard for you and your kind to be holy in any way.

  • @deerfielder11 "Jon is not ready to give it all away as Jesus implied"

implied? and what is your fascination with judging Jon?

  • @omiolo2 a king?

  • @19fas88 1 Timothy 6:15

  • @omiolo2 - But He will look so different when He returns "His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns... dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, ...coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations...On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS." See Revelation 19:11-16.

  • @fwfassett great scripture too!

  • Wow, that looked amazing. I would love to have that painting.

  • He doesn't look like a Hebrew dude....

  • @spareaxe - It's art, guy!

  • @spareaxe Looks pretty similar to some of my Hebrew friends actually...

  • Powerful imagery of a scripture worth pondering!

  • Seth, wow! That was beautiful! That painting, that imagery! So perfect!

  • because god is fair

  • wow..that is deep!

  • Impressive/creative.

  • I just had a moment of humility. Meaning submissiveness. As my eyes water up, my soul cries for what is to come. Much sorrow, but much more in the belief Jesus is coming. In all his glory, I submit myself to go home. Beautiful artwork, but the message is so much more relevant. God bless all.
