I was using skills that were only from Prophecies. I was trying to do the game from the perspective of having only Prophecies, though I did cheat a little and acquired myself heroes because the henchmen are just too unreliable in this game.
I do the same for Factions, only I do not get any heroes. It's all restricted to the one game.
now what i do when i get to an ether seal is i send henchmen into the area and use them to lur e the enemies out so i dont have to worry about losing energy from being in the ether magic
Jesus christ I hated the Ring of Fire-mission, I did it with my assassin a few weeks ago and the Sparks of the Titans were a real bitch, did like 300 dmg per instantspell, and they stacked those attacks on me all the time.
I finally finished the mission with -60% penalty, the boss was a total disappointment.
no, my armor was infused, it was the Mind Spark or whatever it was called that was doing so much damage, it's an instant spell that they can stack on you like 2-3 times really fast.
As far as I know those are just regular fire elementalist skills and not Mursaat specific skills.
Anyways, got through it after a couple of tries, and because I am an idiot I left the Droknar room without getting my max weapon from the deldrimor talisman, so I had to to it again to get the weapon. xD

Sounds like your armour may not have been infused. Especially if they were doing that much damage to you. Or you had crappy monks on the team.

Ahhhh I hate when that happens. Then again, Hell's Precipice is one of my favourite missions, and I don't mind playing it over and over.
Those Mind Sparks are pretty brutal, I try and toss in bait to attract the attention of them first, then wipe them out before any other enemy.
