Hey (: Me and my mates did that, the one where the person at the start was walking on is called " Runway " and the one where he jumped off is called " Crimfield " (:
The practice of jumping into the sea or similar body of water from a cliff or other high point such that the jumper enters the water vertically straight, like a tombstone. The term 'tombstoning' is more commonly used in the UK and Europe than in North America.
@teambrucewillis Well, Tombstoning is a deadly craze that involves peobple jumping off cliffs, rocks and harbour walls into the sea. It has inspired a host of websites and an expanding band of daredevil followers who love to try out the best sites around the country. Tombstoning, so called because of the high level of fatalities and serious jumpers, has grown in popularity among teenagers and is normally done when the sea is at its roughest and most dangerous
this is ABOUT 10 meteres wich is 30-34 ftish you'll hit the water at 40mph needed about 8-9ft to go down before returning, and ive done this jump its the biggest ive ever done/probally will ever do
@tireoghain1V yeah i kinda feel like a tit cause i did that jump after writing the comment and its fucking huge, a bigger one in plymouth is blue box the left hand side of laira bridge its a sortof crane structure
OK folks, I guess we've established that I over estimated the height! Whatever it is, when you stand there and look down, its a fair drop!
In response to lewisbaymanlewis's emailed question, I was filming the kids as I live in Plymouth and was just having a stroll with the family and relatives and saw this and thought it would be good to film and put up on hear for other like-minded folks to view. Why?
@ConnorFergusonRules 80ft would give you 2.2 seconds of airtime, assuming you dropped straight down... To get 4 seconds of airtime, would require you to fall from 258.984 feet... So... Yeah...
I timed the jump, it was roughly 1.8 seconds. If we assume his was airborne for 1.8 seconds, exactly, then using the equation, t=SQRT(2h/g), then that jump was 15.8922 metres (52.44426 feet). Still pretty impressive, though.
@t4tvs 59ft. I said 52... Not too bad... Like you said, you have to allow for tides. Also, my calculations were based off him going directly down, whilst the guy in this video runs out a bit... Pretty interesting though.
Lads have been jumping off these rocks for years, we used to do it when we knocked around the hoe in the 80's. It's part of growing up and letting your mates know you have bottle. Oh and usually the higher the cliff, the better looking chick you had.
Brilliant, you did well, kiddo. Ignore the 'tards who post negative stuff about it. Its deep enough, clear enough and straight down so nowt to worry about (apart from the height, obviously!!)
If you had read my comments, numbnuts, you would have known that these are not friends etc of mine, I just filmed them as I was walking past! If you aint got a worthwhile comment, dont bother making one, waster!!
