always wondered what a good ol gm sixer would sound like with a flowmaster. I remember what these sounded like when they were new. Always thought they sounded kinda neat.

did u cut the CAT out and put straight pipe where it was at? i jw man cuz with my grand prix 96 i plan on cutn the cat out and putn a supper 44 where the cat was and straight pipe it all the way to the back and duel it out at the end i think it should sound nice

it cost me 180CND installed, I cut the stock intake tube to make it a bigger hole to draw air out of which will help, i also added a k&n filter, and have a simple chip on the air intake to trick the car to thinking its getting -22c air so you get around 15hp more! and i also run a half bottle of lucas oil stabilizer which increases the compression a little. all of these things will help and cost very little, plus the change the sound to what i have. thanks!
i had a 90 euro that was kick butt when i got it from the dealer he said it was special and not a normal lumina saying the tires were wider and a better engine i didn't think much of it until i sold it and the dealer askedme how i got a highway patrol issue lumina. i always wondered why my engine looked way diffrent than other limina engines and i could race cobra mustangs and thoughs cars are stronge i got t-boned and all i had to do is get my rear door and axle fixed the other car was totaled

Wow! 221,208 is alot of miles, but these Luminas were built like tanks, they last forever!! There are a bunch of base Luminas from the 90-94 era still on the road!!
I think the best sound although illegal was when i straight piped it with a single pipe. Sounded like a 305! Ultra-LOUD! :) Also ran a solid 15.5 quarter mile. I miss her, too bad I flipped her :(

sounds good till it starts making that "tinny" sound. :) I had a 1992 Euro 2-door red. I changed the exhaust at least once a month. First just cut the muffler off, that sounded pretty good. Then I threw a turbo muffler on it, but wasnt loud enough lol. I then made a custom dual exhaust with the same muffler. got bored and cut out the cat and left the muffler on, sounded really good.

look, i'm not trying to flame, i'm trying to help here. Don't keep on bouncing off the rev limiter on your engine unless you have something along the lines of an MSD soft rev over rev control. and really, you won't get much out of that Ebay chip.

I understand that the ebay chip does not give much! but i was just so tempted to try as i never thought it would do anything!! it does work but were not talking much power gains!!! what would the MSD soft rev do just make it sound smoth?? I'm on a beer buget for a while as i had to repair the car a little while ago when it had a run in with a tractor trailor!!!
well, it doesn't make it sound smooth, but it makes it so that you don't damage your engine when you start to hit the rev limiter. basically MSD made this different rev limiter that simply tells the ignition system to fire when the exhaust valves are open instead. this way, the same amount of fuel goes through and all so nothing is damaged, and the mixture is still combusted, just at the end of the cycle. so basically, it keeps combustion from happening instead of just cutting off fuel.
cyclone chip! i bought it on ebay! i work on cars all day and so i wanted to try it out and it proves to actully work. It works by tricking the ecm into putting more fuel into the engine.
lolol you know those cars was pretty quick already i can only imagine it sounds good at idle but not when you rev but thumbs up
