@MrScorn Hammer-on is the right term, and if you are saying that what is in the song then your correct. I know my guitar is hard to hear (I've remixed this a while back since I didn't know much about mixing before), but I do play a hammer-on there.

Well done. It's not an easy song to cover! But it's easy for people to pick holes (in anything) from behind their computer screens. So what if it isn't an identical sound to the album? - Everyone plays with their own style and equipment - it still sounds GREAT.

@MetalMistress888 Yeah, I think next time I'll use directed input method as appose to miking my amp. I have my line 6 and that sounds good for lead guitar parts like this. I think my guitar intonation was a little bit off so a couple of parts sound a bit off, pitch wise. Glad to see you enjoyed it though.

There is no tapping during the solo, I suggest you watch their live performances its just a guitar harmony at that part. Like I said earlier, I'm only playing the lead so if you listen to the lead guitar parts that's what I'm playing. Skeletonwitch usually has two separate guitar parts for the lead and rhythm guitarist, that is the reason. Lastly I do suggest you go and pick up a guitar and play this before telling me what is right and what is wrong.

but other than that its very good, although that little scale at 0:07 seconds in didnt have the sceletonwitch feel i think the pitch harmonic at 0:31 was a good add on

plus the riff at 0:29 seconds in is supposed to have power cords

like what you did at 1:10 but after that i think youre supposed to do more power cords at 1:19

look at truedarklink's cover

the opening solo had hammer ons witch to me are better sounding, and more metal

and till about 1:30 in it sounded more like skeletonwitch, but after that as like what CloudArchitect said, it seems as if he was a robot the rest of the song, plus i think he made a few mistakes

Well, lets start with the first topic. My amp is miked up, and since this isn't layered or have anything added to it EQ, compression, etc. its not going to have the same sound as on the record. One main thing to remember is that I'm playing the lead passages only, which means at 0:29 there is only the rhythm guitar playing. I did not play any extra solos, scales or anything (aside from the natural harmonics), this was supposed to be note for note cover of the lead part.

Nicely played- I have a question. When you play the riff around 40 seconds in, are you playing the powerchords or are those single notes? The tab I found says powerchords but it is borderline impossible to play at that speed.

@Akerfeldtfan The tab I used showed single notes, which makes the most sense. I'm guessing the tab you found tried to merge both lead and rhythm guitar parts. I am playing the lead guitar part, and on the album the rhythm guitarist plays the harmonies with the lead.
