This is a ridiculous system, when are people going to be going under 30kp/h and not be able to stop in time for a pedestrian. Even if the person steps out at the last minute the radar will have just as little time to respond as the driver who should be aware of these things anyway.

@cookie852 First off, the systems actually works in speeds over 30 km/h too, but cannot completely avoid an accident but make it less harmful. Secondly, according to the studies made by various insurance companies, these kinds of systems really does decrease the numbers of accidents with pedestrians and cars. And as always, Volvo is a step ahead of it's competitors when it comes to safety!
