Seriosly, that's just ignorant on her part. Not talking to your kids about birth control is kind of ridiculous, even if it is for beliefs. It's still going to happen in their schools, some of their friends are probably having sexy-time on a regular basis. Even if you are against birth control, at least mention it to them, and say something like "abstinence is better" or "god looks down on having sex for fun"...if that's what you believe...which apparently...she does.

It's ridiculous. In our schools (in canada) abstinance education is never even taught. WE learn about safe sex, STDs etc. But I never recall my teachers even mentioning abstinance. It's a far more effective message thenjust saying "Don't have sex."

I have never said she shouldn't talk about it. I believe in fact that she SHOULD. I'm just saying that the likelihood that she will ever discuss it with her children is very small. I believe very much in birth control and the that it should be taught. I believe abstinence education is harmful because you shouldn't just be saying don't do it, you should be telling them how to do it SAFELY. I agree that not teaching birth control methods is dangerous.

Living in Alaska must be like living in Siberia. The place can be beautiful but it is frozen too much of the year. In my opinion not only do you need to be paid to live in Alaska but you SHOULDN'T live in Alaska. It should be a giant natural preserve with a few mines, oil wells and military instalations. Why wreck one more place? Leave it to the moose and the polar bears. I swear, I don't want to live anywhere near those.

Look in the background of any McCain/Palin rally and all you see in whites, mainly confederate flag waving, Obama monkey holding, thinks he's a ARAB or terrorist thinking idiot that doesnt want anyone other than a WHITE man in office. It's not about who is qualified... its that Obama is MORE qualified then McCain. John has been around for ever and only now is talking about real issues like climate control b/c its obvious now. We made a mistake by not putting Gore in office and refuse to make the same error twice. I need a smart guy in office like Obama, not John Wayne McCain and Sarah Stewardist Palin. Obama is not unqualified because his parents got divorced. He is unqualified becuase he has accomplished absolutely nothing during his very short stint as a Senator. He has never been an administrator, leader of any kind. So by your own admission, he is qualified to be president becuase he's "open minded". WOW.
