Actually, the correct pronunciation is "Teedus" for all of those who are complaining about it. Thus why it was 'mispronounced' in Kingdom Hearts as well. The game was made in Japan, and their Romanji "i" sounds like "ee" in English. It's easy to see how people wouldn't know though if they don't know a lot of Japanese. After all, his name is never spoken in-game because the player is allowed to name him something else if they want.

However in many English speaking nations it simply looks like like it should be pronounced TIE. As it stands now: 3 games and 1 commercial, that were approved and released by Square-Enix and Square Soft, have pronounced it as Tee-Dus. That alone makes that pronunciation to be true. So in the US he is called "Tee-Dus".

I would need some form of official proof to believe that because as far as I've heard, its Tie-dus. and the commercials (or games as english versions can make the same mistake) make mistakes with a number of chars. Take Naruto for example. normally, its pronounced "Na-Rue-Toe" but in english commercials they butchered it and called it "Narootoe".
