  • Interesting that neither Mearsheimer nor Rosen mentioned the limitation of resources. I have read elsewhere that it would take the resources of 9-11 earths to support the american lifestyle for the entire world. maintaining our way of life means keeping the impoverished in poverty, not helping them. not saying thats what we should do, but i believe thats the ugly truth.

  • Daniel H. Rosen is among the small portion of the American people who are awake and is realistic about China. We Americans have enough enemies around the world and don't need to creat another "big" enemy - China.

  • chineese are perfect in only one aspect....

spyin nd stealin technology from US

  • what makes u think the CIA is not doing the same? didnt the US did the same to USSR?

  • like americans 100 years ago right? stealing IPR from england? learn some history dip shit

  • Awesome speech. Very logic and convincing.

  • I appreciate Rosen's realistic optimism. We have the ability to compete in economic terms, and saber rattling is really a sign of fear and weakness.

  • What about China spying on large scale, stealing technology from many nations, allowing the mass scale theft of intellectual property of companies, massive Chinese counterfeiting?

What is his response to that?

  • @Munin0 like what the USA did to europe 100 years ago, u mean?

  • China costs American JOBS, Manufacturing capacity, Value of the Dollar, & Taxes. We give them too much for receiving so little.

  • What have Americans given the Chinese? American companies invest in China to take advantage of low labor wages, thereby making money for American companies. Americans import large amounts of Chinese products and stamp their own trademark. What did USA "give" to the Chinese?

  • 1BuckeyeNation: China buys up 1/3 of U.S. debt in the form of Treasury Bills. Without it, U.S. would be BANKRUPT...the way you're burning money in IraqNam.

  • Good speech!

  • Well said, trouble is part of mature relationship...
