  • can you help .................my external guitar compressor is conflicting with tc helicon voicelive 2 i plug my guitar in tc helicon then out of guitar thru into compresser pedel and voulme on guitar going quiet and loud all the time

  • awesome!

  • Well, whatever you may think about the TC...

I've downloaded "let it rain".... Wow! Maybe the most sweetest song I've ever heard!

Cum' on, let's make this song a world hit!!!! ;-)

  • THERE'S SOME HECTIC PHASING GOING ON!!!!!!!!

  • Hey Joey,

I would like to know if:

    1. VoiceLive2 has all the features of TC Helicon Correct XT and if not which are lacking.

    2. If I can use the harmony function with a distorted guitar providing the chords necessary to build the harmony from.

    Thanks !

  • what preset is selected at 1:41 ?

Have you any tutorial or song demo video that tells people what respective preset/tweaking demo uses?

  • I love the singing, just dont like the vocial harmony distortion chior effects causing the audio to wash out the speakers in surround sound mode.

  • What is this beautful song Laura sings in this video, "Thanks to you". Is this a song she wote and if so is it available to purchase?

Voicelive 2 is awesome and I will be getting one soon :) Laura is wonderful and I wish her lot of luck and good fortune in the future. I hope she still works for TC-Helicon because she's great.

  • First I want to say that I love your singing ( I mean Laura Clapp, you are incredible....I am looking to get one of these, voicelive2. I would like to know if this unit need to be couple with the other unit, the voice correct unit....or if this unit incorporate all the feature from the voice correct unit...and all I would need is the voicelive2....I see that you have both on this video although I dont know if you are using both or just the voicelive2...???

  • @lumsage Hiya, The VoiceLive 2 contains all the features of the (original) VoiceTone Correct. For this Video Laura was using just the VoiceLive 2 for all effects and tone shaping.

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC-Helicon

  • @tchelicon I have had the voicelive for about 2 months and the screen is blank! I've emailed support and looked on their site and there are many users having the same problem. For $800 I expect a product to last longer than 2 months! So far all I'm seeing is to send it in for warranty support! That's ridiculous! I would stay away from this product! I wish I had never bought it!

  • @Suhgarim Hiya, I’m really sorry to hear you are having this problem with your VoiceLive 2. Whilst this problem is extremely rare I do completely understand the frustration you are feeling at this point. If the screen is defective then there should be absolutely no issue in sorting this out for you.

  • @tchelicon As you know Joey this is not a rare issue. There are several threads on your support forum that you have commented on. And there are many people who are having the same problem. Perhaps you can tell me where in South Carolina I can get this fixed? I have contacted support but have not heard back. We were going to use this Friday for a show but that's not going to happen obviously! I'm afraid this will be the last TC Helicon product I ever buy.

  • @Suhgarim I appreciate you contacting support. Perhaps it is also worth contacting the dealer where you purchased the unit from and discussing this with them also as they may be able to offer a direct replacement.

Please do be aware that there are many VoiceLive 2 users out there who have never experienced this issue and we do pride ourselves on producing a premium product.

  • @tchelicon Unfortunately the dealer I bought it from only had a 30 day return policy and it's been about two months since I bought it. We only used this unit twice and never outside of our practice space. So my only choice now is to send it in for repair. There are many users with this problem it is very common and as a consumer I will tell anyone stay away from this product!

  • @Suhgarim I sincerely apologise once again for the pain and inconvenience this has caused you but would like to think that you would give this product another chance with the current issue sorted.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC-Helicon

  • @tchelicon Trust me if I could I would send this back in a heart beat and get my $800 back! I only hope that your warranty works better than this product. For a company that has built it's reputation on solid products this one is a big failure IMO. I'm guessing these are all made in China and thus the quality control is severely lacking. Either that or whoever is programming your firmware updates is terrible. WORD TO THE WISE, IF YOU DO BUY THIS UNIT DONT UPDATE TO THE LATEST FIRMWARE!

  • @tchelicon Can you use the voicelive to render traditional "robotic" vocoder effects as well as harmonies?

  • Very pretty , nice tune , cheer´s to you!!!

  • While playing out there are some songs that I may not play on, so how would this work if there is no chord recognition?

  • @partnr2 Hiya, In this case you can simply set a key/scale manually :).

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC-Helicon

  • @partnr2 You are an extremely talented lady, one of the best vocalists Ive heard in a long time. Its because of your videos that i bought one of these. Great product i use it in the studio on my vocalist. Thanks

  • @MrQuestions1011 That user is a guy. I assume you're referring to the performer in the video, Laura Clapp, though.

  • How well does this unit track a Bass? I'm the bass player with Dirty Little Secret and the only real back-up vocals in the band. I'm currently using a different unit by another manufacturer ... and no one is happy with it. Very mechanical sounding at times.

  • @DavidTyler1 Hiya David, re tracking bass...I assume you're wanting to trigger harmonies with your bass? If so, I've heard feedback from other users that this can work quite well. Some things to consider though would be, making sure that you play the important notes in the chords (root, 3rd, 7th) so that the VoiceLive 2 knows whether you want major or minor/dominant or major in your harmonies.

  • @DavidTyler1 ... I'd suggest trying the VoiceLive 2 out with your bass at a store near you to make sure you're happy with the result :).

Hope I've managed to help you out a bit!

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC-Helicon

  • "You are always new" 0:55 :D Love that.

  • What an amazing tool ! I've got to have it ! ;-)))

  • Does VL2 has individually-adjustable harmony voice gender as the voiceworks plus?

  • @jmsantamaria Hiya, Yes... You can indeed adjust the gender of the individual voices :).

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC-Helicon

  • do u have to have ur guitar pluged in to the vl2 to get ptch correction and harmonys or does it have setting for guitarless ?

  • @2007jhi Hiya, The pitch correction will work fine without needing to have a guitar plugged into the VoiceLive 2. If you don't use guitar you can always use a midi input or even an mp3 via the aux in to trigger harmonies. The VoiceLive 2 can also be set to a specific key or scale, so this is another way you could do it without a guitar.

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC-Helicon

  • Had mine for a while now and it is awesome. What you're shown here doesn't even scratch the surface of what this thing can do for you. I've just joined a second band who hadn't seen learn how to use it and they are in awe of it. Our lead guitarist has toured and worked in studios, etc and he's the one who sings it praises (and therefore mine).

Trust me, and no I don't get paid for saying this, this is the best bit of kit I have ever bought - bar none!

  • Okay.. Said it was priced a little steep before.. but after all the reviews I read and video's I watched it is actually cheap for what it can do. I had to break down and order one i cannot wait until it gets in. Going to be like a 6 year old trying to sleep on christmas eve....

  • with the voicelive 2, can you turn to pitch correction setting to as hard as it will go, for really autotuned vocals?

  • @izisam1401 Hiya, Yes, you can definitely adjust the amount of effect the autotune has on your vocal. However, I believe it is the "hardtune" effect you are referring to which is also available on VoiceLive 2 in the FX section andsome of the factory presets have this featured too.

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC-Helicon

  • This is very helpful. I`m planning to buy a TC Helicon but I haven`t decide yet what.

My budget is about 900-1000 american dollars. What would you recommend?

Voice live 2 is about 500 bucks but it looks like it would do the job

I really like TC Helicon voice live, but it would be nice to make them a bit bigger, just the way effect for guitars are made, with big pedals, so you don`t have to worry if you have big feet.

    Regards,

    A.D

  • Wow Sweet I want one.... 900 bucks is a little steep!

  • this is awesome

  • I wish it wasn't so expensive

  • Lovely Taylor. can you make a video doing sounds out of tune with the harmonizer fonction?

  • Lovely Taylor

  • Hey guys, does anybody know the name of the first song she is singing ???? I just loved it and could not find it in google. Beautiful song !!

  • MONTACJI CUL CUL IN Sù!!!!!!

  • she is so beautiful,so amazing,so great

i made a song for laura clapp

soon on youtube.................may be this week...........

    stephsingen

  • nice

  • what happens if two people sing in the mic at the same time with pitch correction?

  • @younghines Hiya, I wouldn't recommend doing this personally as it can have some stange results. Pitch correction is designed to cope with a mono signal so giving it more than one note (even the same note sung just slightly off pitch with another person = 2 notes) will definitely confuse it.

    Best wishes,

    Joey

  • @tchelicon I bet that could prove to be used for some unique effects tho =P

  • Dear TC!

Could you possibly tell me which features of VoiceTone Synth are included in VoiceLive2 or are they completely different?

  • @TheLewente Sure! The only thing which isn't available in the VoiceLive 2 which the VoiceTone Synth has is the vocoder. The VoiceTone Synth is the go if you're after all those flat out hard-tuning type effects or very un-natural effects.

It might be worth checking both products out on TC-Helicon's website to get a full understanding of what those two pedals are all about :).

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC-Helicon

  • @tchelicon Thanks for answering! I thought the same. I'm planning to buy a VoiceLive 2, but its insanely expensive here in Hungary compare to U.S. dealers(1070$ with all the taxes included:S), but I do know it's going to be amazing to have one.

  • Hi, I was on the verge of buying the VoiceTone Correct, VoiceTone CreateXT, & the Harmony G-XT Vocal Harmony and Effects pedals when I saw the VoiceLive 2. The Voicelive 2 seems very impressive, however, I was wondering if there would be any downside to purchasing the VoiceLive 2 instead of the 3 previously mentioned pedals? Thanks.

  • Can someone explain what is the difference between voicelive one and 2... Thanks.

  • @Marshallsoloway HIya, The VoiceLive 2 has many differences to the original VoiceLive. For a start there is the 8 voices of harmony as well as the intelligent adaptive tone features. The VoiceLive 2 has been designed to be the most user friendly and intuitive vocal effects processor possible. The step mode function is completely redesigned and you can generate harmonies using key / scale, midi, guitar or any audio input.

  • @Marshallsoloway There are so many possibilities with this unit and pretty much everything onboard is editable. I would suggest you visit your local Helicon dealer and try one for yourself. If you need any more help feel free to sing out!

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC-Helicon

  • what do i need for efeects /vocal charters do i need this or something else i dont use peadas and i use the turning noobs and it needs to be easy to work with and i want some of the efeects to be auto tune, t pain,lo-fi,techno,alien,giant,monster,echo,skipping voice, fading voice, robot ,repeat, vocoder, cyborg, and more

  • @KINJ9 HIya, I would suggest you start by trying out the VoiceLive 2 and the VoiceTone Synth at your local TC-Helicon dealer. These are probably the best place to start and you can do pretty much anything with the effects on offer.

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC Helicon

  • So which is better for a vocalist- voicelive 2 or voiceworks 2? Advice, guys? Joey? Thanks!

  • @RisingEdge111

Hiya, both products are specifically made for vocalists... so I would say they both have lots to offer. The VL 2 is the newest out of the two and is a floor based unit whilst VoiceWorks is a rack unit. I'd suggest trying both options out at a music store near you and also checking the products out individually at TC-Helicon's website.

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC-Helicon

  • would this work OK with a saxophone?

  • What's a her microphone? Neumann?

  • sounds really awesome.

  • Looks pretty easy! Anyone can use this machine! For amateurs or professionals everywhere!

  • but how much is it?

  • Hiya Robert,

The best thing to do is get in contact with your local TC Helicon dealer and they should be able to help you.

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC Helicon

  • @tchelicon Can you also use this machine to sing along to karaoke tracks?

  • @Chicago10281 HIya. Yes you could. The aux input allows you to generate the harmonies by sending any form of audio into the unit (mp3 / CD etc.).

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC Helicon

  • @tchelicon I call this the machine of the future! Is there also a VoiceLive(the original)?

  • it's about 800$ in US

if you're unlucky like me and you're in europe you'll have to pay about 750 EUR :(

  • Hiya Chicago,

Absolutely! The great thing about this pedal is it's definitely a piece of equiptment you can grow with.

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC Helicon

  • Hi i got VL2,and Iam very happy .Its very useful, however i have a question.i use this for karaoke ,there is just one "in"for mic.can I plug two microphones ?If so could you please tell me how to do that and what king of additional device is necessary?

  • Im using a unit from another popular manufacture. I use an XLR splitter so another singer and I can use at the same time or alternate with backup harmonies and it works quite well for us. Would be interesting to find out if it does as well with the VoiceLive. barry

  • @alladyn1979 Hiya alladyn, Sorry, I would not advise plugging 2 mics into the VoiceLive 2 at the same time. THis unit was designed for mono input only and doing this would mean that the harmonies and adaptive features (tone / pitch etc) would struggle to function correctly.

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC Helicon

  • also here...great sound with the Voice Live 2

can you say me..... which Preset was used here?

  • Comment removed

  • Are you this song's author? What is this song's title? Could i find this song in the net?thx :)

  • this is great for people that don't have a great voice like myself

  • Become a social butterfly and win up to 5 VoiceTone pedals!

Check our website for more details on how to win...

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC Helicon

  • Waaaaaaauuuw Wat een te gek hebbe ding, dit is een must have als je zuiver zingt vet cool geil

gewoon een droom die uit komt

  • We (The Biters) just bought the Live4 version. That is yesterday the 5th of September 2009.

I hooked it up in my living room, played it and hurried to the corner of the room to "secretly cry" of joy...

    It is sooooooo great!!

  • what is the live 4 version ?

  • ALOHA

Would you be able to hook it up

to a Karaoke system and have the same

sounds or you have to hook up a guitar

    Mahalo from Hawaii

  • Hiya Mahalo,

Yes you can hook it up to a karaoke system, but you will need to feed the backing track into the VoiceLive 2 via the aux input.

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC Helicon

  • HI, I have 2 questions that I would love answered: how come she has a Harmony g hooked up? What would it add to the voicelive 2 since the VL 2 is allready doing the Harmonizing of the voice or is it just there for some other reason. When the chord recognition mode is activated does it only work when the Harmony G is plugged in or can it be done directly with the VL 2. Thank you for your attention.

  • Hiya,

She wasn't using the Harmony-G at all for this performance. It's simply there as she was demonstrating a few TC Helicon pedals (the Harmony-G being one) for the Musikmesse music trade show.

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC Helicon

  • The harmonies are done directly with the VoiceLive 2 :).

  • Oh but it's cheating isn't it? ;OP

Nice demo... and I believe this young lady provided B.V. for Howard Jones on stage recently?

  • Yes, she certainly did :).

  • That would be perfect for me if it had a built in looper too......next time maybe??? :-)

  • my friend by any chance do you have a boss gt-10

    ?

  • Whenever I see the VoiceLive 2 in a demo, it always looks like it's hooked up to other TC-Helicon products, I think I see the Harmony-G pedal. Is this the case, or is the sound in the demo coming purely from the VL2? Thanks

  • Hiya,

What you are hearing here is only coming from the VoiceLive 2 - no other pedals are hooked up.

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC Helicon

  • How do you set it up in order for VoiceLive 2 to get the key/scale from the band mix? Or what about if I'm playing an electric guitar through an amp rather than acoustic through this unit?

  • Also, do you have a listing or description of the 200+ presets available? I actually thought the Elvis Radio setting was pretty clever. I'm also looking for some other vocalist-specific presets, such as Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Rush, etc.

  • Hiya,

In order to get the VoiceLive 2 to get it's chordal information from a whole band senario, you can either run a mix from the front of house or a mic mix into the aux in. In these two ways, no instruments need to be plugged in.

  • However, if you have a guitarist in your band (acoustic or electric) - you have the choice to plug him straight into the VoiceLive 2 and have him give the chordal information for creating your harmonies. He has the choice to either use the guitar effects which come with the VL 2 or if he prefers to use his own amp/effects, this is easily achieved (still he can be plugged into the VL 2) but he would go into the guitar input and out of the guitar thru to his amp.

  • Hope that all makes sense? Feel free to give me a shout anytime!

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC Helicon

  • hey! IM amazed with d capacity of this pedal!! i didn't see Delay demostration,, it s good too?? or just harmonize voices,,, Cuz i want to use delays on my voices live,,, thank you!!!! and thanks for Excelent products..!

  • Hiya,

Absolutely - Delay, reverb, up to 8 harmonies, doubling, compression, adaptive EQ and over 200 factory presets!

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC Helicon

  • thank you!!!

  • No worries! Feel free to give me a shout anytime :).

    Best,

    Joey

  • I just ordered mine today. I can't wait to start using it and thanks to you guys for all the vids to help me make my decision.

  • This is an insanely good unit. Is there anywhere it can be tried out in London before purchasing it?

  • Hi Firefly,

Unfortunately the VoiceLive 2 has been selling out the moment stores recieve them. Your best bet is contacting your local dealer and asking them to contact you when they have some new stock arrive (should be about 2 weeks).

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC Helicon

  • HI Joey, I was wondering if you could help me. I have brought VL2 and was wondering how to use the gender effects the best way to achieve kinda janet jackson harmonized vocals. Any suggestions? Many thanks, Ally

  • Hiya Ally,

The best thing to do is really a process of trial and error. There are so many presets on the VoiceLive 2 that it's probably best to spend some time going through these to find something that is close to what you are looking for, and then edit it from there.

Some general guidelines would be that with the gender control, you should set all values above zero as those are more feminine sounding voices than those below zero.

  • You'll also find that alot of pop music tends to have quite effected backing vocals, so you may want to add some chorus etc to get the character sounding right.

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC Helicon

  • A buddy of mine gave me his voice live today but i lost the power cord! AAAAHHHHH! What really sucks is seeing how beautiful this machine works on Youtube. I want to sing right NOW! Where can I order a power cord? Anyone know? I went to TC-Helicon web site and turned up nothing; someone please help!

  • Hiya,

Have you got the VoiceLive 2, or the first one? If it's the first one, it's just a standard IEC (kettle) chord. That should be pretty easy to get hold of from several electrical stores/music shops.

If it's the VoiceLive 2, then any TC Helicon dealer should be able to help you with this.

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC Helicon

  • How possible would it be to see a video demo of this voice live2 being used by a keyboardist? Are all the effects compatible with my electronic keyboard?

  • Hiya,

I'm sure we'll have some videos shortly of this unit being used with a keybopard via midi. As far as effects being compatible with your keyboard, all the effects on this unit are mostly for vocals and a few for guitar. For use with your keyboard you'd connect via midi, hence no effects would be used by the keyboard (just simply transferring midi data for creating the vocal harmony).

    Best wishes, Joey

  • Got to get one of these ! ... it will be hard to say goodbye to my harmony G though .... really had good fun with it and this one looks and sounds even better .

  • Hiya,

It's called "Thanks To You". I'll be sure to let you know if Laura records this and makes it available to buy.

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC Helicon

  • I will sell my digitech voicalist live 4 for this!!

  • hi my name is Adrian ind i got a question.what is better for live performence voicworkplus with pedal or voicelive 2.Iam going to buy one fo them but still confused.thanks for advice.

  • Hi Adrian,

If I were you, I'd look at the VoiceLive 2 as it's built with live performance in mind and has the brand new technology "Natural Play" - which means the harmonies sound even more realistic. You have compression, adaptive eq, can plug guitar in to generate harmonies as well as midi and even the choice of singing to an mp3 and it harmonising your vocals to that. This pedal has everything you could possibly need and more.

    Best,

    Joey

  • Yes, the VoiceLive 2 is capable of gender changing and with the new harmony technology these also sound extremely good. Definitely go and check one out when they arrive in Singapore!

Feel free to contact me anytime.

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC Helicon

  • Wow, you are really great TC! Keep on doing the good stuff :)

  • Really glad to hear you're enjoying your Harmony M. What style of music do you play? I'd be interested to hear some of your work!

To answer your questions - Yes, the VoiceLive 2 has a totally new harmony technology to any of our previous products (called "natural play"), which makes the harmonies sound even more realistic. You also have the choice of up to 8 harmony voices at any one time.

  • Very nice effect. (Good performance too.)

  • Glad you like it and thanks for the positive feedback - (I'll pass that onto Laura).

    Best,

    Joey @ TC Helicon

  • Awesome unit by the looks and sound of it!

VL2 just hitting the stores downunder. Can't wait to get my hands on one.

"V1" enhanced performances gonna be great Welsha and Quirky!

  • great stuff!!

  • Would love to see some video Demo's of not so main stream Genres! if you need some made i would be glad to help out.

  • Im going to buy this thing, ill make a demo of it, JoRo, The Aberration, Myspace it...

  • What is the name of her first song? Beautiful.

  • One more question that i found interesting in the video of the first live... ''will it do bohemian rhapsody? thanks''... will it?

Thanks again, and it's just for curiosity... I don't need that for my songs.

  • It's a really nice pedal! I would like to know if I buy this pedal, will I have the same effects as create/correction/harmonyG, all together? All in this pedal? Because I'm in thinking about what is better for me, buy 3 separately or buy live2... what do you think?

  • Wow...I love the new features: compressor, limiter, & gate and more buttons? I love more buttons. That's it! It looks like you guys also switch to XLR outputs instead of balanced 1/4" huh. I had to use an adapter from 1/4" to XLR on the old version. I want this new baby too. Wonder if I could sell my old one.

  • still playing with all my settings on create and correct pedals have found out its good to use a mic with a notch filter like a beta 58 it greatly expands what i can do i view all my tc products as an investment in the future i think you have just scratched the surface keep going

  • This certainly looks interesting. I have only used the Digitech VL4 and then VL Pro. Is there likely to be PC editor with this unit? Digitech really disappointed with the lack of visual onscreen editor for the VL Pro.

  • I couldnt imagine being without my Harmony-G

  • I want one! ;-)

I Have the VoiceCreate and just love TC Hellicon products!

  • Ah, glad to hear you're enjoying your Voice Tone Create! The Voice Live 2 will definitely be that next place to go for singers :). Out of interest ... what's you're favourite preset with the Voice Tone Create? What genre do you play?
