It is also a widely known fact that the NOLA coroner who performed John's autopsy was fired, (and I believe prosecuted) for tampering with evidence/filing false documents, i.e making up fake autopsy results, and faking documents to do as little work possible.. When the county started uploading old cases to computer filing, they lost tons of papers, and found inconsistancies with his evidence as it corelated to his official findings..

John's sister, upon realising ALL of her brothers things were missing, once mailed to her, fought very hard against the NOLA PD to actually investigate, as they found no heroin in his system, and only slightly more then his perscribed dose of methadone.. LSD however can only be found with a spinal tap, as it retains itself in ones spinal fluid.. Convieniently everyone interviewed was left out of the official report, and the original was lost some time later, which closed the case..

@StardustMaeField Personally i dont think an autopsy was really done, i think he just collapsed and then was robbed and left for dead. too bad he doesnt get the credit he deserves. he was the best live performer and only real guitar player of the 70's & 80's

Over a life time of being a fan, and reading everything thunders related since I was about 12, I am 28 now, lol...Dee Dee Ramone, and Jerry Nolan after the fact, the day John was found; Were told by members of John's band, that he'd gone out upon arrival in NOLA to "acquaint" himself with the area... there were also some calls John allegedly made to his band mates/management that seemed, let's say "paranoid" or "addled" and they surmised that he had been slipped acid..

Whatever did happen, John was Murdered and what happend to him could happen to any of us, and the fact that no one is questioning his supposed "accidental overdose"(except us that knew him, and his fans) is a real shame...

Johnny was murdered. Hooked up with some bad folks, and allegedly got dosed with acid, which John HATED and would NOT have done voluntarily..

All his clothes were stolen, including never-worn silk suits that he had bought on his tour of asia, his passport, his money, his methadone, and all of his stage make up/gear... the cops lost everything regarding their "investigation." and the coroner was fired because of falsifying docs.. John was found wrapped in a ball under the coffee table..

@DARRINCONNOR1 However, my first comment is my personal chronology.. pieced together after reading all the information I just spewed out, from various, personal, professional and media sources.. so exactly what was said, specific times, or the "exact-ness" of it all..I wasnt there, so I cant for sure say.. But that is my interpretation of everything I've researched, the most common threads, which I believe to be true..

Yes , this "NEW BAND" Loder speaks of , The Oddballs (Seen in the Japanese footage). Well , they WERE new when I saw them backing Johnny almost two years earlier. The theory that his "Buddies" slipped him LSD , probably in a drink , has only recently been taken seriously. He O.D.ed on Meth , but , who's to say he set up the shot , or even held the needle in place? The only good thing about his dying in NOLA was , IF HE'D DIED IN NYC , IT WOULD'VE BEEN LENNY BRUCE ALL OVER AGAIN.

Kurt Loder is incorrect about a relapse in the last year of Mr. Thunders life. From the family interviews and Nina's various writings, what was passing for a "relapse" was the hidden fact that Mr. Thunders had advance stages of some form of cancer. In New Orleans, he was robbed and poisoned (based on evidence, mostly likely through LSD-- a drug Johnny Thunders hated and rarely touched).

@TWHueyGuitar Bullshit. He was shooting coke and someone gave him LSD in powder form and Johnny Shot it up. Most Heroin and Coke addicts don't like hallucinogens because they open your consciousness instead of shutting it down. Johnny was tripping balls and used an entire month supply of methadone to come down off the LSD and that's enough Methadone to kill ten men....never mind one. They found out he had advanced stages of Leukemia but he had kept that hidden. DRUGS ARE WHAT KILLED HIM.

@Flipper79able I'm not counting his taking of methadone as a relapse. His methadone was in the form of a prescription from Johnny's doctor in England. From the sources I cited above, I'm fairly convinced he was trying to stay as clean as he could in that last year of his life. Methadone was just his treatment to combat his addiction.

@Flipper79able I heard that he was actually murdered and stuffed under the dresser. It was a robbery for his drugs or something. I stayed in his room-(unknown to me at the time) and fought with my husband the whole time. My cousin stayed there and they fought in the room the whole time too. The energy in the room is heavy. Johnny locked me out of the room. My ex was passed out and I left the door OPEN--came back it was locked and my ex wouldn't wake up. St. Peter House on St. Peter & Burgundy st
