  • I really hate to point this out but bellydancing isnt indian and it seems a bit odd to do a belly dance to indian music

  • ur really good at the hun :) keep it up :)

  • i know how hard fans to work with...my first attempt...left me with much to desire. i think its very brave for you to try with no instruction. you have good spirit

  • @callistaangel

I am now getting instructions from my bellydance teacher, since we are doing a fan veil group choreography for our next show. Hopefully, it'll help me make some progress for my next fan veil video. Thanks for your support.

  • hiya, i don't care what music you're dancing to here, what i'm looking at is your fan work - how you move the veils - and the variety of moves you do with those veils. from what i can see, and i've been dancing with 2 silk veils 5' in length for a couple of years, for a first time effort i'd give you a thumbs up for sure. they float nicely in the air, gracefully oftentimes, tho' sometimes they get stuck ( i know, ya gotta keep those silk veils moving ).... nice work! i liked it!

  • @castanets1

Well thank you very much. My bellydance teacher is now showing us a few fan veil moves so hopefully, it'll get much better. But I admit that dancing outside doesn't help with the 'getting stuck thing'. Thanks for the nice comment.

  • @valy4 Nice try loved it :-) but technically speaking not correct...you should'.ve tried doing an Indian dance to this song and this is one of my favourite A R Rahman song btw so thanx for choosing this song...have you watched the original song? if not pls watch and understand the difference between belly dance and Indian classical dance. It will be good if u learn some basics of Indian classical dance (Kathak or Bharatnatyam)

  • @valy4 Btw both 'Kehna hi kya'(Hindi version) and 'Kannalanae'(Tamil version) are the same song but different versions

    Film - Bombay (1995)

    Singers - K S Chitra, A R Rahman and Chorus

    Lyrics - Mehboob (Hindi version)

    Music - A R Rahman

  • Spectacular, a long time overdue but well worth waiting for!

  • Thank you. I had no choice but to make you wait since here in Montréal, it's too cold to go dance outside.

  • 2 COMPLETELY different things

Song is Indian, but the theme is suppossed to be "Arab" hence "bellydance" I would reccomend Ana fi intizarak or any other arabic song.

  • @markee871 hi, I totally know that this song is Indian and the dance isn't (why would I have put the hindi lyrics if I didn't know that!). But in my mind, bellydance can be danced to almost anything. It doesn't requires specific traditionnal arabic songs. I do have traditional song but it's always a question of feeling. Too bad you didn't like it.

  • but it makes no sense, thats like doing irish dance to rap music or doing ballet to head banger music...it doesnt go together.

Also, Im not triying to be rude but many ppl are ignorant and seeing ur video they will associate arabs with being indian, they'll mix arab with indian culture..WHICH IS COMPLETELY WRONG!

Bellydance should be kept as is with arab music. the oringinal is always best..just like michael jackson..Original is always best to be kept as is..not mixed with other things.

  • @markee871

sometime bellydance can be very nice to non traditional music
