  • Nice snapper recipe. Im not with the Black South Africans bias. Sorry, say it the other way and you'll see that the focus is on race. Just recommend the brand, who cares who makes it and what color their skin is.

  • Miss Heather,So Far All your Videos are awsomee.

  • since when Israelis have theri own cuscus. I cant understand first Falafel is an Israelis dish, then Homos and now cucus which a Morrocon dish unreal. and to tip it all the palestanina kofeyeh ( National scarf) what is next?

  • This was an amazing video, and i Must add that you are so gorgeous Girlie!!

  • had some red snapper, hopped on utube to find a healthy recipe. i tried this and it was amazing. thank u so much heather!

  • Theres no way this is healthy. Look at all that butter

  • I disagree. You only need to use a little butter sauce. And it's fish! With roasted vegetables and pasta. Don't be afraid of butter.

  • Easy enough, I'll try it tonight. Thanks for the recipe.

  • because the black south africans are a little different in culture than the white south africans. and she is not promoting them. things become racist if you make them racist.

  • Thats all you noticed throughout this amazing video. Grow up!

  • I'm sure that's all you would notice if I did a video and ended it with a reference to a great "white" owned company.

  • LOL Juberoos. She stated a clear fact. How about using BlackPepper opposed to salt or using Black olives? Would one be racist? Please, log off and move about the country! Your spending way to much time online. Good-day

  • Now you're just grasping. Reverse racism is a huge problem. Your dismissive attitude is very telling of your maturity level.

  • And this comes from someone who "only" noticed the mentionings of a Black owned company as opposed to how to cook Red Snapper in Brown Butter? Your pessimestic attitude is very telling of your maturity level. Anywho, Go head Heather! I'll be waiting to see you on The Cooking Network.

  • @Juberoos

    You're incredibly dense and oblivious.

  • Oh for crying out loud...people need to stop being afraid of butter!! Its now proven that it's way better for you than margerine (YUK), and plus it's not like you are going to eat it every day! Moderation and excercise people! Stop being arm chair nutrionists..don't make the dish if your mamby pamby baby ass cant take the butter..GREAT JOB HEATHER!

  • God damn!! It's good to see that through your "white skin," your "black" shows through. BTW, u r also, sooo fine! Your husband is one lucky guy.

  • Can I have some of your snapper filet? LOL!

  • This dish look like it would be simply delicioso lovly. look's yummo.

  • looks tastey

  • I have to watch that again.

maybe next time when I remove my eyes from her breasts I'll be knowing what she is cooking...

  • she´s sexy

  • I can't stand the whole, "made by black south africans" does anyone ever offer you a wine and say, "it was made by white Australians, so you know it's good" good wine is good wine no matter who makes it

  • If white Australians were racially oppressed by their government for generations, as black South Africans were, then their success in winemaking would also be worth noting. The horrific Apartheid policy, dismantled in the 1990's, kept Blacks out the wine industry except under the worst conditions. It is very significant that they are, like their white counterparts, now making wine as well.

  • well said.

  • @gordoneriksen Well you can bet your bottom dollar that there will not be any black australians making wine in australia ever. I could hope to see it in my life but the list of unsavory politics and lawmaking that will stand in their way everytime makes it impossible. The apartheid policy was horrific but distinguishing between 'black and white' is exactly what apartheid is, so saying that it was made by a black south african reinforces the whole ideology, she distinguishes herself as apart.

  • @so1ange

    That's bullshit. You're an idiot.

  • @JoanIsNotTheMaid

You need to get out more dear.

  • @so1ange

No, you need to get out more... not that it would help your lack of perception & understanding or anything.

  • Come to think of it, No. No one has ever offered me a wine and said it was made by "white" whatever. Maybe that's because you just naturally think the person who made the wine was white. Nobody has ever mentioned that there were Black winemakers. I'm glad she mentioned it. Good to know. Information is information. Don't take it so personal.

  • She never said " so you know it's good" .. She said " An excellent value, an excellent wine" Get that straight before you begin stuffin' your words in other people's mouths!.

And yes, when people offe one wine - they do say if it's Italien, French, Spanish etc.

And there happens to be both white and black South Africans.. So why is it wrong to simply mention, that it's made by black South Africans? ..

    Get over it.

  • nice dreds

  • Mmm that looks yummy.

  • did she put the fish in skin down? i don't get it.

screw caps are fine supposedly. i heard something about bacteria in corks or something. i am too lazy to look it up... whatever.

  • You can see the pink flesh up in the pan. So it went in skin first.

  • she seasons both sides as well, like she is going to eat the skin - that's pretty gross.

  • LOL, is she using a hardware tool to take bones off, LOL, awesome, I can just imagine what is coming LOL.

will she cut stuff with circular saw or with a chain saw?

  • No. And it happens to be common tool used for removing fish bones.

  • How exspensive is Red snapper?

  • If you can't spell then you probably can't afford it either...

  • Heart attack coming

  • Great stuff, ignore the idiots who still live in their parents basement.

  • the pan you cooked asparagus in looks like it was washed in a ditch.zlol

  • It is just a well used pan, fool. We had one using at home growing up, that pan was so old, burned and wonderful. You couldn't get the outside crust off if it was sandblasted. Last time I was home it was gone, thrown out. It felt like an old friend or family had died.

  • You can't beat a good well used pan.........I had 2 given me when first married 45 years ago, and they were old then.

PS. they have never seen soap and water

  • eat it if you want to be fat!!

  • wow your a gr8 insightful savior of a cook?

  • easy quick and delicious 0:08 what about easy, healthy and delicious? Why not substitute that garbage toxicant drink with a nice So Good Vanilla Soya Drink filled with Vitamin B6 and B12 excellent for your brain, not to mention 40% Vitamin D excellent for your bones. Why not substitute that garbage toxicant drink with nice chilled grape nectar.

  • yeah and did you see the Sauce? She put an extreme amount of butter. Thats got to be bad for you.

  • oh gosh get a life. its just a fucking recipe which you can alter.

  • Have you ever tried soy drink and butter in the same meal. Trust me, it's nasty.

I don't think this is about health, this is about flavor.

  • 2:00 is beautiful

  • don't you mean 2:03?

  • THANK YOU VERY GOOD JOB.

  • so sexy girl

  • the host likes screw-top bottled wine

clearly she knows what she's talking about

  • she does, lots of good wine comes in screw caps, for instance all of new zealand australia and south africa, even when they are $100.

  • "lots of good wine comes in screw caps"

Ripple, Thunderbird, Night Train, Boones Farm, MD20/20.....yep good wines there!

  • AS GOOD AS MOTHER MILK!

  • as good as any cooking show on TV

  • OH RED SNAPPAH, VERY TASTY!

  • THIS IS SPARTA!!!

  • Really great video all around I'd be glad to watch more cooking shows from you. You are a great host and have great personality for this type of show.

  • Yes, they do. I haven't seen any in the US, though.

  • Your rack gets 4 stars.

  • yes it does

  • SweetNeoCon407, the situation is a bit different in South Africa because of so many years of apartheid. Apartheid was stopped in 1991 (before that, black people couldn't even vote) and 90% of the poor South Africans are black. So endorsing their new companies isn't so bad, I think.

  • Because of Apartheid, the US never imported South African wine. Further, no Blacks participated in the industry, except under the harshest of conditions.

Since Apartheid fell, there has been a multiracial effort to educate and include Blacks in all aspects of the wine industry. By supporting South African wine, particularly when made by Blacks, you are supporting not so much one race or another, but rather a country in the midst of rebuilding itself. Thanks, Heather

  • Very true!!!

  • Nice video Heather, but your fish filet 'curled' in the pan and I think this is because you placed it on the skin side down. Try it the other way around and see what happens.

  • Delicious! That is some great cooking!

  • delicious!!!

  • Very nice video.

    __eBooksBay.Org__

  • She had me until she made it a point that the wine is from a black owned and operated South African vinyard. So what?? Aren't we supposed to be color blind??

  • I think she is classy and she is teaching some simple, delicious techniques. Very smart looking - G4331 is a bozo....

  • That fish was cooked for 3 minutes. It's got to be raw. Heather Johnson is a beautiful woman, but I don't think I could eat her fish. Fillet fish should be cooked 8 to nine minutes when using a deep-frier set at 400 degrees, a deep-frier is an instrument that cooks food evenly on ALL sides at once. So, there is no way that cooking fish 3 minutes in a pan with a few drops of canola oil is done.

  • Three minutes per SIDE, my friend, not 3 minutes total. Without breading, and seared in a pan thats considerably hotter than a deep fryer at 400, it comes out to the same thing.

  • 3 mins one side then 2 mins other listen up child...

  • I agree with SweetNeoCon407.Had me until you said the stuff about the wine.Who cares what color the pple were that made the wine...

  • 3 mins on one side then 2 on the other listen up boy..

  • The rule of thumb when baking fish is 10 minutes per inch. But when using dry heat, as in a saute pan, the fish cooks considerably faster, particularly if the fillets are small. Plus you put both sides directly on the heat. Undercooked fish is very unappealing, but overcooked fish isn't much better. That said, whenever you cook, it's always best to use your own judgement, and prepare the food to your own tastes. Even the best of recipes are just guidelines. Best, hj

  • You are gorgeous!!

  • I just made this dish for my family tonight

and it was, shall I say, simply MARVELOUS.

You are fabulous Heather, and I appreciate your

quick, easy and absolutely delicious recipes!

  • Why not steam, with balsamic and olive oil? They're so good. I have to try to roast them next time.

  • Steaming with balsamic and olive oil sounds delicious, I just roast or grill asparagus if I'm going to pair it with wine. Steamed asparagus can sometimes make wine taste funny. Thanks for the question. Best, hj
