IMHO Star Trek has had its time. Now it's time for more science based fiction, like Star Gate and B-5. According to a MIT review I once read ST was 20% or less based on real science, SG and B-5 were around 70% based on real science; Star Wars averaged 45%. When I say "real science" I mean things that could be done today and/or are at lease based on real science. I.E. the B5 station a rotating cylinder does create a type of gravity.
someone, i dont have what i need to do this so.. someone please make a fan series about the U.S.S. Contact, a picard class starship [new class :) ] stuck in the adromeda galaxy trying to get home in the year 2624 please do this!
There is an amazing fanmade model called Enterprise 1702. You can find it by searching for "Enterprise 1702" in youtube. As far as I know, there a 2 videos with it available. Really nice! I hope that Star Trek will produce a new series with a ship like this fanmade model.
@gr4b41 It is. Well, not the original, but a ship looking exactly the same can be seen in an episode of Enterprise. Don't know the name, but it's third season, where Daniels takes Archer to the future to show him a battle against the sphere builders in the 26th century.
Is this my imagination or STO in fact "discarded" JJ Abrams universe as "new" lore?
It's true that they left hints of ST XI in game since Romulus got blown up by supernova in to oblivion with Spock and Nero vanished in red matter singularity.., but following core story looks like they both never reach "other side" (Nero's ship never faced Kelvin in first place) and original Vulcan is still there so no fundamental changes in time line because of Nero's action ever occured...
ya know I woke up this morning and was like, "hmm I really have a hankerin' for some star trek ships" and by some miracle you gave me some star trek ships! great start to the day!
@mejw1 America has lost the heart and mind that created Star Trek. We no longer have hope or believe in a future as beautiful as that of Star Trek. Perhaps someday.
@bnewton81 We need it more than ever now. Instead we get a flashy action movie in space with the Trek name attached to it so it sells more tickets. :(
@bnewton81 agree, but change america for planet, and point overpopulation crisis as the cause. That generation was raised in a beautiful planet, with a forest at 10 min from their houses. Now we breed victims instead of people in polluted cities. They are to worried about cancer, unemployment, energy shortage, pesticides in food, air pollution, to dream about a future of space.
@mejw1 I know what you mean. But you must also remember there are so many series and films out there to enjoy. Look at the TOS episodes and you will find new things to learn about. The writers of the day wrote the episodes for different ages at the same time as telling the story. Check it out.
@OneTrueEdge I know that. I SAW Hope and Fear. I saw it a DOZEN times. Brilliant episode. I was more commenting on the order of the pictures than anything else.
Then again, I don't see why Starfleet can't use the design eventually... Watch the Battle of Procyon V. There's a Dauntless flying by the window in there. Maybe eventually.
he can show the Dauntless as if ur quick enough to commen rather than read the info he clearly states "Here Are Some Star Trek Ships" not here are some starfleet ships.
@SuperHahaha1313 it most defiantly will, the JJ Abrams version did very well, I am not a huge fan of his style but it is a decent movie and i understand that if a franchise is to survive they have to evolve, look at TNG style compared to STO. As for another series I think they are taking their time, with BSG changing the way si-fi is filmed. SGU failing to copy it... I would rather them fine tune a new style for the series.
enterprise D was a galaxy class, Arturis' fraud Federation starship. In 2374, Arturis tried to deceive the crew of Voyager into thinking that the Dauntless was a rescue ship. Captain Janeway figured out the truth, and the ship was assimilated by the Borg. episode "Hope and Fear"
An actual STARGATE/PORTAL-THING was caught on film in New Mexico. The footage can be found within the short-film entitled "SUDDEN PORTHOLE", which is parked at the PROJECT CAMELOT YouTube page (it's under the George Noory video).
I'm not selling anything…I'm just trying to spread the word about the unseen-dimensions we find ourselves embedded in.
My BLOG contains peripheral data regarding the movie and is where I reply to the "debunkers" (use search words "SAM ZURICK" & "BLOG"). THANKS!!
Um.... 2 things..... 1: You displayed the plate for the Dauntless and then proceeded to show a pick of the U.S.S. Prometheus. 2: If you are showing federation vessels you cant show the Dauntless because that was an alien vessel dressed up to look like a federation vessel
@darkmagic1701 Well, to be fair, in the one alternate future shown to Captain Archer by Daniels in Star Trek Enterprise, at some point the Federation does utilize the "Dauntless" model for their ships, as in the Battle of Procyon V (which included the Enterprise J), we see a Dauntless class ship.
