  • The game sucked ass, but this theme almost made it worth it. (almost)

  • this is encounter battle music played during behests when group 2 appears

  • Man This would of been perfect for dissidia 012, I could picture now going into EX burst with squall while this song is playing:)

  • Beneath Bloody Banners

  • Ah thank you.

  • Super cool music, too bad the game was the exact opposite.

  • Crazy how one can feel the FFXIV spirit through the music but not the actual game...

  • Sadly, think that the truth about Uematsu return is money... I only hope that his music will get the same sensations of the older Final Fantasy.

  • This song plays at times during levequests

  • This song plays at times during rank quests.

  • when I play the song, I have an orgasm!

  • Thumbs up if you think this is the single best normal battle themes of all FF games. I do.

  • Okay, that's true, Agetro82, but admits that the song tare

  • nah i like 13 better it has more epicness than this but its ok

  • You know, I don't hear the "traditional" rifts that all previous battle themes had. This is just unrefined. And we all know who was contracted to do the OST for the game. This theme is just so disappointing. I Like it. But not in Final Fantasy. In a game like Lost Oddyssy or something maybe.

  • @BlackWolfessUSCM Listen to some of the other battle themes, they sound a bit more like the classic FF and even Romancing Saga.

  • It plays during levequests in Ul'dah

  • @kanto27 Why would you get annoyed? It'd only be annoying if the music was just a jumbled mess of bleeps and bloops. I just don't get it :/

  • I played the beta for this game man this never got old to me not like XIII that whole game was a mess

  • The like 3 or 4 songs I listened all the time while I played open beta, this is the best one so far :P - I wish I could find them all and download em.

  • From playing the Beta, I can tell you this: It's a battle theme that goes along with your levequests and only at the end when your target tries to flee or regroup with more targets. It's perfectly fitting to the situation.

  • @BreakeroftheDawn

Yes I played open beta and this description fits perfectly.

  • @kanto27 You Fail! but at the same time your entitled to your own opinion...

  • If your a FF fan, then listening to the same battle theme over and over for dozens of hours is nothing new.

  • @agetro82

    Agreed :)

  • @agetro82 +9999 to this.

  • @agetro82 Not only is it nothing new, but it's also a must when playing the game lol

  • I don't know, sounds more Pokémon than Final Fantasy.

  • This song uses some similar sounds to the Jenova song. Nobou is the man!

  • i go to the ffxiv website to hear this song almost daily <.< i freakin love it

  • its like a fucked up verioson to james bonds theme song

  • i dunno why but i REALLY like the sound track

  • @wh0sane it because it was composed by nobuo uematsu duh! XD

  • @wh0sane

    uematsu

    thats why

  • @wh0sane This game marks the return of Nobuo Uematsu as composer. That's probably why.

  • @wh0sane It's because Uematsu said he was inspired by his own older music track's for FF, so, every track of XIV features a bit of the past of FF's mucial brilliance and his genius, so every fan of every installment of the series hears a bit of his favorite out of every track of XIV, it's like a musical Dissidia

  • @Justforvisit "It's because Uematsu said he was inspired by his own older music track's for FF, so, every track of XIV features a bit of the past of FF's mucial brilliance"

yes, and to further the effect he used the same $20 keyboard he used on the games from the late 1990s.

  • @wh0sane Because its the work of Nobou Uematsu, the best of the best XD

  • @wh0sane Probably because you hadn't played the game at the time, haha. But the OST ain't too bad of course, but it's got nothing on the older Nobuo works.

  • This will be an epic boss song. I trust Nobou. This will more like the special boss song like the one fighting crystal warriors in FFXI.

  • This is a guildleve miniboss/boss battle theme from my experiences

  • Im playing the beta right now and I can say this IS NOT the battle theme (no im not trying to slap the uploader in the face, just saying)

  • I hope this really isn't the battle theme. :/

It sounds so ear-bleedingly annoying to be a battle theme...maybe for a cut scene or something, but I do like the part at 1:45

I loved XIII's soundtrack, and XIV has some good ones in it, too. But this one is definitely my least favored. :/

  • From 1:44 until the end sound EPIC !!!!

  • This is waay better than FFXI's battle theme In my opinion. I missed Nobou

  • I dont think this is the battle music per se, but the music that plays during guildleves.

  • Being a fan from FFVII, and largely disappointed with FFXIII, I've got to say this battle theme really captures the feel of the older FF's. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but Nobuo Uematsu is back composing the music, isn't he?

  • @WattyTV

    yes Uematsu is back

  • i actually quite like this theme, although maybe it would be better suited for bigger battles like bosses :3

  • This music is cool, but I don't think its the battle music. The battle music kinda reminds me a bit of Guilty Gear, and the opening theme to Justice League haha

  • to bad that i cant play the game...its gonna be for online gaming so screw it...the music is awsome!

  • I dunno why... but this song sounds more like an unrefined Motoi Sakuraba track

  • Or possibly Beneath Bloody Borders... I can't remember.

  • Pretty sure this is Beyond Bloody Borders

  • If you have seen someone actually play the game this is not the battle music. It might be one of them. But I watched someone play it and the battle music was an epic guitar solo riff. I loved it.

  • I noticed. This doesn't even really sound like a fitting battle theme to hear in normal monster fights throughout the entire game. I need a name though. Once I get it I'll update the name of the vid.

  • @kanto27 "Beneath bloody borders" Is the title of this music.

  • @kanto27 This song plays during quests. When either the target monsters appear or the monsters your fighting start to run away and call for help is when this song plays. It happens all the time when Im doing quests where it involves Imps and stuff.

  • @GuitarJester89 Also, it's an FF game, so there will be lots of different battle themes to fit party size, character status, enemy strength, etc. (:

  • @GuitarJester89 this plays for me randomly during a guildleve quest.

  • @GuitarJester89 ever watch someone play this and immediatly wanna move to japan and commit sepeku on the front gardens of the bastards that made this ass waste of a game? :D

  • @GuitarJester89 This plays while a monster is running away from you during the last part of a levequest, eventually you will confront it and it will summon some extra allies to attack you.

  • I agree with HiagoX, but i like it! *-*

  • Well arranged, but not fitting for a MMORPG...

  • @HiagoX

And what fits for a mmorpg? boring forgetable ambient sound ?

at least each time your fighting you doesn't get bored.

  • opinions i guess. The fights in ff13 didn't last long enough to hear the awesome violons part.

  • I like it o__o
