As campy as Omega Man and Last Man On Earth were I think they truer to the grim reality that this sort of situation would inspire. Gore does not equal scary and an intelligent zombie movie has yet to be made. I watched the first seaon of Walking Dead. It held my interest but really added nothing new to the zombie mythos. They were still just shambling, rotting bags of flesh looking for a meal. I lost interest afterwards. I might scare some but they just want the same thing over and over..Boring.

The silliest image in the entire series is in Survival of the Dead with the zombie riding the horse. I wanted out after about forty-five minutes of that piece of junk. Let's hope Romero doesn't have another up his sleeve and he just retires. His best days are long behind him.

You can skip Day of the Dead, Land of the Dead, Diary of the Dead, and Survival of the Dead. A once interesting series sunk by the lack of imagination from it's own creator. Instead of letting the story evolve into something more the endless squabbling between humans and the inevitable flesh feast and let the zombies become more organized and begin to form their own culture that threatens to usurp the human culture. That would be scary to realize you are becoming obslete.

@Clawmarkedmovies It sure did! They even had to write on the box that it wasn't related to that movie. And there's a lot of subtle and non-subtle references to it in both games, the zombies behave almost identicaly and alot of locations are similar. In Deadrising 2, one of the shopping mall (the more "hidden" one) has a very similar look and has some sort of water-park wich looks identical to something you see in the final scene. Its kinda weird to think such games were made in japan.
