why you should get vista. Vista was meant to be crashing, laggy version of windows 7 beta and wished that microsoft would ship a free version of windows 7 for each customer they managed to rip off.

Also, do you realizes that Windows XP is windows version 5.1, windows 7version 6.1 and windows vista is version 6.0?

So Windows 7 was meant to be a real release of XP's successor.

I use my vista com for surfing the net and playing pc games. It's not as though I bought vista seperatley it came with this com and this kind of com was the sort of com I needed for what I do on a PC so I just bought the whole package.

not true I use my computer for gaming and theres a tool that shows you how much memory you are using which I happen to have right here on my desktop so to prove your not true here are the stats for my mem usage. RAM usage 49.92% CPU 11%. This is constantly going up and down as often updates are installing in the background.

Lol so untrue its hilarious. This vista com is runnning much faster and I can log on very quickly. I have never got a virus on this com despite having minimal anti virus protection. XP compatible? manafactures will choose normally 2 OS to operate with. So when windows 7 comes out then it will be vista/windows7 as required OS.

my point is... NOT new programs. I want to continue to use my old programs. and mostly microsofts new operating systems make big big problems with this. therefore why change? and your words have no point. since vista was and is almost dead and Xp is still the most common system there will be surely tools for it. the companys would be so crazy not to do it cause they'd loose money if half of the people cant use it.

I have used almost every OS Microsoft has ever put out.From DOS to Vista I got a brand new laptop...and because of its compatability issues I didn't put many programs on it and I have almost less than 1% System stability...The laptop has dual core and 1GB or ram yet it runs like a pentium 2 w/ 218MB of Ram...Bottom line if you game don't go to Vista yet..and if you run a business or depend on comp alot don't get Vista-I know I have had it for 1 year and have helped friends w/ their Vista issues-

Vista is actually very stable OS. At first it sucked, i agree but then again, what did XP have in the first two years? it took XP 2 (yes 2) service packs to be stable. Vista's taken 1. And UAC is good. People complained about XP security. Now they complain about security that actually helps them???!!! People need to get their facts straight and give it a chance.

i think i might get vista on a seperate hdd just to see if its alright and if it is i'll use it as my main os (i have nearly all the version ofwindows on usb flash drives and external hdd's. i dont use a virtual machine cause i dont like lots of os active at once and it slows down the os i'm using) if its shit i'll continue to use xp as my primary os.

Vista isn't much of a memory hog to me. You see, it uses your RAM to make sure its working fully instead of it just sitting there and waiting for a game to run. I've never had problem with Vista. Just update to SP1 and your ready.

#5: nothing works on it and it's not backward compatible, #4: it's the same file system that they made more confusing, #3: you have to authorize EVERYTHING to run it even windows update, #2: widgets on vista are slow and take up the whole screen, #1: you need a whole new computer just to run it.

As I work in a tech room, I can say that fixing a vista system is a bloody nightmare. When uninstalling antispyware beware. They can grab system files and BYE BYE OS!!

1) Widgets can be downloaded from google, they're free and just as good on XP.

2)File system is more confusing and not as organized as XP

3Media center is useless, just download itunes if you have a PC

4)The search is the ONLY decent thing on vista

5) Who cares for prettier windows with it eats up more than half a gig of memory.

Just get windows 64 bit version if you have a new custom PC. It reads up to like 128 gigs of memory.
