Hey daytese that's so ignorant to say, why would they dislike or ignore someone just because they're not from Winnipeg? I've heard that on someone's blog too, so stupid. I just moved here and there are so many nice people here I love Winnipeg and if you hate it this much no one's keeping you from moving. It's a city of what 800,000 ? No one can be the same, maybe it's you who just wants to think that about Wpg.

what? I'm from Winnipeg - born and raised - and it's nothing like that. There are homeless people pretty much everywhere you look and the further you get downtown the worse it gets. Our city needs help from other provinces so that it hopefully someday will be something to be proud of. That said, the music scene is great.

I grew up in Winterpeg. It's best to go there in the summer b/c the winters are brutal unless you're used to the "Siberia" of the north. Just make sure to carry a bug spray with you when you go touring in the summer if you're (un)lucky to win. I love this City!

I used to think this way. It's like I thought how this city sucks bad BUT C'mon! It's not that bad. People are friendly. It also says "friendly Manitoba" in the licence plates and when you get on the transit buses, the bus operators are super friendly! Unlike the bus drivers in LA - sheeeeeesh (talk about RUDE). I used to think that Winnipeg is such a dung hole. I'd move back if the right opportunity comes.

Transit drivers friendly in wpg? That's rich. Compared to LA maybe, but go to the west coast of Canada, the drivers will actually treat you like a human being.

Yeah, do not go out at night especially when the mosquitoes are most active or when the City has done the spraying to kill off the larvaes. About things crumbling of course b/c of the extreme weather. It's a pretty safe city compared to other cities like LA where I've been living for 4 years!
