  • For the fitness test is it 60 in your own time or do you have to keep to the bleep?

  • @dennykohli You need to do 60 in 2 minutes, although if you hit 60 before the times up you must keep going, stopping results in failure.

  • i used to think i could do press ups pretty well, until they had us doing this at school... i could only manage 10

  • I'm just about to apply for the Royal Marines and can smash out about 40-50 of these in one go, is that enough or should I need to be able to do more?

  • @Cruisey1234 better safe tan sorry dude the more you can do the better :) dont just focus on pressups you need all round fitness

  • @Cruisey1234 You need to do 60 for the fitness test

  • @OzzyHughes I managed 65 last week so I'm doing alright now :)

  • I thought this is how normal press ups were done?

  • It's 60 in the space of two minutes.

  • i just down loaded the press up bleep test, and first off managed 40 press ups,it also helps your core stability,by the time i got to 30 i was shaking, but managed to that extra ten, every time i do an extra 5,to build up

  • its a point game lads, you have to do by all means at least 20 but it doesn't look great if you get low marks on other exercises so always strive for the best. its a 2 min ex one pressup per 2 second max 60 if its a bleep test. if not then smash out as many possible whilst still using the same technique.

  • The way that first twat lied down was hilarious.

  • he layed down like that as to be a marker with his hand so the other guy knows when he has gone down far enough to be classed as one press up

  • Why did the other guy lay down like that?

  • @ConnerKleister To measure the guys press-up depth, they need to get their chest down to their fist to make the press-up count during the test.

  • Strange that this is labeled as "Royal Marines Style Press ups". As this is the STANDARD British Military press up for all sections of the British Armed Forces.

  • @leonwiganer yeah i have been praticing and on a good day can get bout 50 down so i know its defo an improvement! but fuck me sideways 100 in one minute?

  • @FireBreathingSnowman Congratulations, now go out do these guys in every other category they excel in. Even if you did beat the basic requirement by doing 106 in 1 minute (which sounds like complete and utter bullshit) they still would beat you in essentially every other area they look for.

  • This is actually helpful. Fuck my old job, i wanna be the best :p

  • 0:28

  • Royal Marines are the best in the world, my hat off to these hard ass mudas, respect

  • im a royal marine cadet and can get down about 40 of these in a minute! im pretty impressed with my self! :)

  • Yeah but snowman does gymnastics save the country ?

  • hey guys im applying to be a royal marine and one of the tests is 60 press ups in 2 minutes and trust me not as easy as it looks

  • @maizematt its not 60 in 2 test its best effort you want over 60 for good marks though

  • I've been using these press ups since i bought the Royal Marine Fitness book. It doesn't seem to work the chest as much withthe elbows tucked in as with the elbows out?

  • @ccfckenny it works the triceps more with the elbows tucked in

  • holy shit that guy is tall

  • Comment removed

  • @rik102 No... You have to touch the clenched fist in the marines or it doesnt count as a pushup :P

  • @imonaboatman Yeah but was it really necessary for him to run in and collapse lilke that??

  • @rik102 Yup. Its how the army works, fast & safe. If you notice he never loses his form :p

  • @rik102 notice his fist ? well thats how you count how many press ups you do its only valid if you go all the way down to touch the fist of the person "playing dead"

  • @Rabby0605 Yeah, I understand the whole thing with his fist, I just fail to understand why he fell into place like he had just been shot.

  • @rik102 well its probably a comfortable position to lie in while someone cracks on with some 50 press ups either that or to remain as close to the ground as possible so you dont bring your arm up off the ground

  • @rik102 Hahahahahahahahaha thats hilarious

  • @rik102

When the corporal says hit the deck, you do it like you've been shot, or he'll fuckin shoot you himself. Either way, your lying flat on your face when the corp tells you to.

  • @rik102 If you go in asking if everything is "necessary" then you'll end up hated. Military tradition is what it is. It's come a long way and is tried and tested, don't question it otherwise you'll be regarded as a gobshite.

  • @fenderkid6 omg, over react much? I'm not having a go at anyone here, i'm simply saying it's a little bit odd for some guy to drop in and play dead in order for another guy to do do a push up over his clenched fist.

  • @rik102 I didn't overreact. I'm not bothered, just if you said that and you were in they'd say "are you being funny mate? wind yer fucking neck in"

  • @rik102 im not nagging but the only reason they "play dead" is so they cant see the guy doing pushups and only count the ones they feel on there hand

  • what in the fuck are they doing. lol And what is with that dude that just passed out or died. LMAO. The other dude saW that his buddy passed out and just started to do push ups.

  • his chest has to touch his fist you prick - why do you think he had to look away while his mate did the press ups?

  • the quality of these vids is shit

  • Pitty they don't have the equipment to record a video with proper audio. Wonder if the yanks will swap some for a few boxes of ginsters pastys : )

  • YEAH! THAT's HOW I DO MY PUSHUPS!!! :) GO ROYAL MARINES :DD

  • Must be hard, that other dude just passed out.

  • @666pandemic hahaha this seems like much window dressing for a simple push up-er, press up.

  • I don't like that press up style. I prefer to do them with my hands further apart, not so close to my body. Those are more like close grip (tricep) press ups.

  • Yes and these are harder and thats the whole point.

  • Anyone know if the bleep to do pressups is on the PRMC now? thanks in advance

  • @owlscraig

I'm pretty sure it is as fast as you can in 2 minutes same with the sit ups it is just the pull ups to a bleep.

You got a date for your PRMC?

  • Nah you just go all out theres a ton of you doing them all at the same time, your partner counts how many times you hit their fist and the Corporals walk around picking up on bad reps.

  • If you havnt got a partner to put his fist down, Get a normal size cup and put it on its side :)

  • @fatmanontherun thanks for the kind words mate ;-)

  • i do 3 sets of 60 with a minute rest, im preparing for my RT

  • @steviewossobama I wish you good luck bro and have fun ;-)

  • are u joking? your pecks must be so big by now that when you go running you need a bra ;)

  • Lol at you thinking close grip push ups will build up your pecs. I swear people think Bootnecks are like 15 stone ripped machines or something.

  • Bootnecks are machines, and press ups do build up your pecks if they arent close grip, they exercise the muscle and over time your pecks will become bigger from pressups.

  • @kyle1172 Lol oh OK Mr Science Man, lol at you pretending to know what a Marine is passed selection have you? Bootnecks aren't machines, machines are stupid. If they were machines I wouldn't bother recruting for them. Oh and if you know everything there is to know about pec development and your pecs are so huge post a vid of them.

  • @throatslammer I didn't say I know everything about pec development, nothing even close to that but doing press ups builds up your pectoral muscles ask any fitness proffesional. So what if your a royal marine doesn't make you smart, makes you determined but not smart..

  • Anyone hear what he's saying?

  • i did 57 of these in 2 minutes on RMAD not amazing but ti was good :p

  • i have this on my ipod but only some of them work =(

  • Now if only all the videos of people doing 100 pushups did them like this I might be impressed.

  • same here lol

  • I've seen one guy claiming to do 500 odd but in the video he was just in the pressup position andbasically just dipped his shoulders a tad.

    It was embarrasing to watch.

  • @rcbuggy1 i'm 100% agree with you

  • @rcbuggy1 that would take a lot of effort and and very long time.....probably impossible....

  • @SKRiiLLa nah not impossible.. no were near

  • try 60 80 or 100

  • I can do 3 sets of 36 and that burns
