does any one now if i am doing this right i got a male budgett frog today and he seems to not like the water i have the filter in every thing but its full water but a little more then 2 inches of water so i just wanted to know if there is something wrong with him because i want to keep him as long as i can! he also has a rock stand type thing any whay thats it in the cage should i add plants or something or lower the water but i cant do i that much or the filter wont reach =/
Insects, such as crickets, live much longer than mammals if damaged bodily. Tear a head off a wasp for example, and it stays alive for a good hour afterwards. Cut a worm in two and BOTH halves live. That cricket went through PROFOUND suffering in the stomach acid of that frog. The exoskeleton only caused it more pain, because it kept it alive inside its stomach for longer.
Noone CARES about the rights of prey animals. Let nature work, for christ sake.
@tw1stedgrudge They dont register fear or pain the way we do! They have no concept of anything other than breeding and passing on genes! Hence why no one should care that its being eaten by a frog lol! Its the food chain lol!

(ie; not feeding live adult mice/chicks to Pacmans, etc.)However, I have to disagree with your views on pain and fear in animals. I've kept dozens of animals and if you frighten one, they run away. This is called "fear". I've kept insects that with the merest brush of tweezers, will react. This is because all animals can feel, and thus, pain.
ahhh maybe thats because when they eat a mouse, they torture it... but eating a cricket, its just one bite, and its gone. mouse take alot to eat, they go threw alot of suffering.
