SBCs can be many sizes. You can pretty much count on the numbers used in the description of an engine (427, 396, 383, etc.) refer to the size (cubic inches) of the engine. Bore x stroke = cubic inches. In drag racing, 392 generally refers to the early Hemi. A Hemi is neither a small nor large block anything. It's a Hemi.
Pure Hell started with a SBC and moved to an early Chrysler Hemi
Back "in the day" before the NHRA required that the blowers be secured, there were some unbelievable explosions. I remember several (circa; 1964-69) where the blower launched into the sky; 25-50 feet high!

@92camarors25 392 is big block

@sjohnsm not necessarily... it depends on the bore of the cylinders, because most 427's are small blocks, its not cubic inches that determines it.

@speedtrap73 - FYI ... this video is from the 2009 Goodguys West Coast Nats ... not the 2011 event.

Very Cool! I wish I had gone over the weekend to see it rather than on Friday. Rich is a great gentleman.

One of my favorite cars in altered, and one that lives up to it`s name.
Love to hear it idle, that`s some of the sweetest sounding music I`ve heard in a while.
